Motorcar
Merle took my old WH C-Drum and made it a runner! I sent it off as a problem child and it came back with a nickle rotor, and 100 round non-stop dumps on 14 clicks. How cool is that?

Sandman1957
What type Thompson do you have and is that a visible line on the finish, or is that a shadow. I have a similar "line" on mine and I am wondering what caused it. One side (left) has a purpleish finish. and other is the same as the rest of the gun. jim c 351
motorcar, Very nice job. I've been thinking of buying a "C" drum and sending it to Merle. How much will it cost for a nice job like you ended up with?? Jim C
Motorcar
The line in the finish shows up more in that Florescent lighting that I took the picture under for some reason, not really noticable in natural light or in person to the naked eye. It's a 1928AC Bridgeport production. Jim, it would be best to contact Merle directly and discuss what you might like done, I don't want to set his prices by posting how much and for what. He was VERY reasonable on price for the great work he did. I also forgot to mention the front grip is a Dan Block piece of artistry. We have some amazing people on this board! Sandman1957
Motorcar, Mine is a 1928AC as well, mine shows up more in normal light. However the gun runs great and is very accurate. Was hitting steel plates at 100 yards on semi, and full auto. Your drum looks great, I'll have to send mine to Merle as well. Its "new" in the box, and will not even fit into the TSMG. I like getting the rotor nickeled. Will ping Merle.ThanksSandman
Bridgeport28A1
I believe the line visible is where the rear receiver portion was annealed or some type of heat treatment…I'm not sure which is the correct. I'm probably wrong but hopefully Reconbob or Arthur F will be along with the proper answer. My Bridegport address 1928A1 also has a similar line visible in the right lighting. I know that 1911A1 show their heat treated locations more clearly after they have been re-parkerized.
