Devildog1987
Just curious how you all pack/case your Lewis Gun for the range? I keep packing mine in towels in the back of my SUV. It would be great to have a case that fits without adding too much more weight. Thoughts?

DINK
I remove the butt stock and then just use a regular nylon gun case made for long rifles like the M1A or FAL.

Black River Militaria CII
Second para drop cases for all sorts of LMGs and others. Unfortunately they are getting pricey and harder to find so commercial cases are more appealing.

MG08
DSC_1245.JPG This is the REDHEAD 1856 Collection 53 inch case I found ar Bass Pro. A perfect fit.that is a nice looking bag- I already have way to many cases or I would get one. I just use a padded sniper drag bag for long LMGs like the Lewis, MG34 and Type 99. We bought a pile of large padded hard cases years ago for work and I picked up a few on the tail end of the deal. Got them at Cabelas on sale. The problem is they are big and take up too much space if you are hauling a lot of guns. We got them originally for the M249, M60s. Great cases, but too bulky. The way to go is you have to ship stuff though.
1gewehr
I picked up a large hard case from Bass Pro. I cut out the foam so that it fits the Lewis, a magazine, gunners kit and a cleaning rod. Perfect fit and looks like a large electric keyboard which fits in when I'm lugging it around Nashville! Ivan
I pack mine in a soft ski case with buttstock removed. Use some old long wool socks slipped over muzzle and rear end for padding. But that Red Head case looks like a winner !
