cbmott
Stripped lower frames for that price may be a bit tough to find on the internet in general (I’ve seen 0 for under 200 in the past year I’ve had my Thompson). Having learned from experience, unless you come across a sweet deal, it’s better to find exactly what you want after you’ve built up your finances vs settling for a part that isn’t really what you were looking for as then you end up buying what you really wanted later and are out even more money. It’s hard to resist the urge to buy right away but doing research into exactly what you want and what you are going to do with it will be worth it in the long run. Here’s a few websites to take a look at to help you get started, see what’s out there and what the going prices are. There’s many more sites out there and who knows when members might want to sell you something but this may be a good start. Try Numrich Arms or Apexhttps://www.gunpartscorp.com/search#query=Thompson%20&showed=100https://www.tommyguncollectibles.com/1928-lower-internals/https://www.apexgunparts.com/catalogsearch/result/?q=machine-guns+sub-machine-guns+more+thompson-45-acp

Bridgeport28A1
Try Don Bell at Omega Weapons System. If anyone would have have a stripped lower close to your price point it may be Don. $200 may be an unrealistic amount in today's market.

2ndArmored
Decades before you were born, I bought my first M1 carbine when I was a college freshman. $50 cash & carry - in California! (Such an act would now be considered a hate crime there. <_ two months ago i asked the membership if anyone had a lower for sale intended as less expensive alternative to buying dummy receiver. would be modified fit onto semi-auto receiver resulting in non-functioning display model. quote phil collins no reply at all. checked high low digital and real worlds came up empty. none available anywhere any price. but cost listed next ubiquitous of stock flag was always lot more than your budget. thompson exists only misty pages history m1 carbines.>

2ndArmored
The 1927A1 is complete so it already has a lower on it. The idea was to show a "real" Thompson, yet one that wouldn't function. The event for which it was intended has come & gone anyway. But thanks for the offer.

2ndArmored
Before you get too nostalgic, remember too that the minimum wage in the early 1960's was also about $1.20, so that 1928 Thompson would cost you MONTHS of flipping burgers after school. And my priorities back then were Friday night football games and Saturday night dates, not an "ancient" gun that didn't even work.

I worked after school at a drug store, circa 1965, stocking shelves. Minimum wage in PA was, at the time $0.85 per hour. I worked every day after school, Friday nights till 21:00 and all day Saturday. Gas was 19.9 per gallon and I filed up Studebaker every Saturday evening. Even a $165.00 Thompson was a dream I could not afford. $200 lower, dream on. Edited January 12, 2019 by Tiz

benedw60
Inflation from 1972 is 575% which means every dollar in 1972 is now worth 5.
Ron Mills
Not being nostalgic. Simply providing a picture and price references for the benefit of those who may not have seen it/them before.
