  1. “2 of 3” guns appear to be for sale now on GB: https://www.gunbroker.com/item/992264386
  2. Welcome indeed! Post your interests and fire away with questions. The waters are friendly here.
  3. Bob, I agree and thanks for the experienced eye. The fins don’t look 1921-ish; more like wartime? Scant description too.
  4. https://www.gunbroker.com/item/993641109 Seller lists as “Rare 5 digit serial number”…I only count 4. An old refinish?
  5. Yes it’s the magical magnetic drum! Get yours today.
  6. Ah to be 60 again! Happy birthday young fella. In that pic, old Jack’s eyes might be shifted slightly to the left of the Thompson? Possible…
  7. I’m not bidding on it; but here it is. https://www.ebay.com/itm/204332075363?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=xOsJu5h-Sqm&sssrc=2349624&ssuid=&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY
  8. I never got a response from the museum. Maybe someone else will have better luck.
  9. A friend of mine is a retired police officer and said he had to participate in a couple buy-back events when he was a sarge. He told me that he almost cried when he saw Garands, Winchester 73s, expensive shotguns, you name it, coming in, mostly from an elderly person’s attic. Sad. Crime has also not decreased around there either.
  10. I contacted the museum today and will post the serial number here if and when they respond.
  11. https://thesouthern.com/news/local/history/on-april-19-1928-in-benton-charlie-birger-was-the-last-man-publicly-hanged-in/collection_70e03983-85a4-5a8c-a621-4c102828af12.html#2
  12. Interesting perspective there Bill. Never knew of that concept or ideal etc. I guess expediency wasn’t the order of the day. Or week. Or month. Maybe expediency is the wrong word, but I’m famos for that. Cheers, Ron
  13. It’s a trend! I snapped this pic in a local gun store yesterday.
  14. http://www.22lrconversions.com/tsmgk-pg.htm Factory website above. Or maybe a board member here wants to sell theirs.
  15. Thanks much for the pics+explanation. Wonder why they took the trouble to make/mark separate mags for the 41. I assumed they just used MP40 mags. Never assume right?
  16. Gents, I’ve been around firearms for a looong time and never knew of MP38/40 mags marked Schmeisser until today. So, how many of you here have mags with that marking? I’d be very interested in seeing a closeup pic of one as I haven’t found one online. Maybe they were a lot more common than I think. Thanks, Ron
  17. A friend of mine sent this pic. I can imagine the lucky GI was trying to think of any way to sneak this stuff into a duffle and take home! Probably all got destroyed.
  18. All kidding aside and meant no disrespect, a huge debt of gratitude to all those guys.
  19. Regarding the last photo: “…when the fighting was down to bare feet and Thompsons” 😉
  20. I wasn’t aware there were bids already. I’m not an attorney and don’t work for GB, just offering a suggestion. There are many good folks on this board with vast experience that don’t want to see any of us land in the pokey. I hope you keep us posted, no pun intended.
  21. Can’t you edit the posting and exclude certain items? I thought I had seen auctions ended by the seller before. Maybe that was with 0 bids.
  22. Wonder why the front sight was replaced or modified? Better sight picture? Interesting.
