amafrank
I think the rivet diameter is about 1/8". There are hard rivets normally stocked by most hardware suppliers like bolt and screw stores, not so much ace or walmart..... You can also use 1/8" dia mild steel rod. The sight base is countersunk and normally the receiver is countersunk a little. Make sure with the rivet just extending past the bottom of the hole it extends 1.5 times the diameter above. Use your normal rivetting technique to drive them. If you are rivetting to a solid dummy receiver than make the rivets about 1.5 rivet diameters longer than the hole and smack them into place with a hammer and punch. The heads will fill out the countersinks on the top. good luck Frank
TommyGunner
Glen Whittenberger has them for $5 set. I remember something about looking into the Gun Parts ones a while back and determining that they are no good. Can't remember what it was. reconbob
Send me a self addressed stamped envelope and $5 and I'll send you 5 rivets. There are mild steel so they can be properly peened and were machined to specifications on the orignal gov't drawing. I've used them over the years for both shooting guns and dummys so I know they are OK. They have the correct FLAT head... a lot of guys are using round head rivets but originals all had flat heads.
