Patent Date Magazine

Recommended Posts

I just ran across an XX magazine with the late 'corrected' patent date markings in quite good condition, no rust at all, just some finish wear. It's the only one I've ever seen except in photographs, just how rare and desirable are these? Any special value, or should I just put it in the '21's hard case?

All types of patent date magazines are desirable, especially in good condition. Magazines in good condition usually start in the $75 to $100 price range and go up. Beater magazines are less but still desirable. Using the magazine will probably not hurt the value but I would not drop it on the ground.

On occassion I havebeen able to locate some from a vendor who usually has a bunch of 20 round mags in a pile. Sorting thru, I might get one every show I see him - unless Ron Brock was there first!

And - the price is $30. But, save for that one vendor, TD is right on.

There are many Maguire era on Gunbroker currently that have not sold for $100.

IMHO for the Maquire era mags you are looking at $60-80 or so for a nice one.

The Early patent dates I have seen $125 - $140 recently asking prices.

Again with all pricing it is what someone is willing to pay.
