Robert Henley
What's interesting about this now, to me, is there is an M3 on one of the Boards from a large collection, and the finish appears to be blemished in the area right above and below the mag release. I was wondering why, and this thread implies to me that the gun may have had these pins at one time which were removed. This is a quick observation, but let me know what you think (particularly those who have some experience with this). http://www.sturmgewehr.com/forums/index.php?/topic/1780-wts-us-m3-grease-gun-cr-guide-lamp-ge-with-extras-18750/
jim c 351
RH,The gun in question is a typical British proofed M3.It wasn't pins that were removed it was the "U" shaped mag catch guard that was removed. This gun was no doubt painted black while under British ownership and later parkerized after the guard was ground off.Jim C
DZelenka
It's serial number is only 205 away from mine. Probably went to Britain on the same ship as mine.
Robert Henley
It looks like a pretty nice gun, and this would then explain the blemishes. Thanks, Robert
