MP43
Did I miss the boat on the MG42 tripod mounts? Where is the best current price to be found. I know FGS has original WWll pods but I will be happy with a post war model. Hank

Abwehr
The last account I had was that Gun Things had the post war MG-42/3 tripods in stock, in excellent condition for approx. $500-550. They did not include the optics or optic lighting system. These tripods have jumped in price by about 200% in the last year. I bought mine from Sportsmans Guide early last year, in new condition with optics and lighting system for $189.00. Take a look at Gun Things website at www.gunthings.com, or call them at 763-473-2737. They may have some still in stock. Good luck as this is an excellent tripod! BLACKJOHN
Brian has some MG3 tripods comming in, www.brpguns.com If your not in a rush hold on there is more comming in from overseas soon-ish, keep your eyes on Tapco and DSA depending on how many flood the markit will set the price. 1919 boys ate up all of them and shot up the price. There still worth 500$ with the scope if you ask me. Post a "WTB MG42 tripod" on www.1919a4.com is you wont one right now. Good luck

drfixer
Hi....If you are still looking for a MG42 gnd tripod, I have one for sale. It is complete with the optics and working light system. I have a 1919a4 Browning so there is an adapter on the MG42. It would be included if you so desired or removed. The price for all is 500.00 + shipping or 425.00 minus the adapter. The condition is used but not abused...everything works as it should. The finish is not brand new and the carry straps are missing, they were when I aquired it. If you are interested, I will send you pics via emaill. My email address is drfixer@verizon.net Thanks for any response. Doc

OldFalGuy
FGS is a fine guy to do business with. About the last of the original mounts out there right now. I got my 1943 tripod I use for display from him and then found a DISA post war mount for shoots. RIght now I am finishing up the setup for a tank mount (leopard) on top of the AA tripod so one can stand up and shoot- alot more fun to me and easier on my back and knees. http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/ohmy.gif Mark
