sherman3
Yep I'm the nut that bought the Morphy Guns. Comes a point were you have to pay to get the hard to find items to round out a collection. Yes the receivers and forearm iron are nickel plated. Did you end up with the Handy Gun with the box as well?
sherman3
Yes I got all but the better of the 2 early guns. I messed up my bid. The box does not match as they disclosed but it contains the paper wrapping and an advertising pamphlet for 3 in 1 oil that says the gun was shipped with there oil on it. Pamphlet is very fragile but I think it will display well.

ron_brock
Not to hijack, but whats a well used 410 with 8 in barrel go for? I like the one on GB but assume its high priced for its condition. Ive had a bug for the Auto Burglar, but also starting to like these Handy Guns. Let me know if you do a display Sherman, would love to see that! Ron
bmarvin
If it's an 80% or better numbers matching 8" .410 in the 10,000-45,000 serial number range I try to pay about $1000Three and four digit serial numbers I pay more and I also pay more for over 50,000 with the "S" trigger guard .28 gauge are worth 50% more to me
bmarvin
My records show I have about 38 or 38 Handy Guns with a couple more in transfer.Out of that only 4 are 28 gauge and just one of those is 8"Out of the remaining .410's, 12-14 are 8" with the balance being 12"
sherman3
The 8 inch on Gun Broker is early but it appears to have a replacment screw on the release lever and finish is not the greatest. I would put it in the $700 range. JUST MY OPINION. Display is coming.
ron_brock
Thanks guys. Also thanks on the screw, I was looking at that yesterday and it looked odd. Ron
