SubmarinerFan
Ive been in and out of this hobby. Its on my list next to finally pull the trigger on the Thompson, sometimes cars, underwater video systems, shark trips, and other toys have priorities; but I think a Thompson is in my near future as I want to knock this one off the list, Ive been wanting one pretty much my whole life. As I begin to revisit this hunt, where is the best place to buy a gun? Id prefer a Colt. Im assuming: -Best place to buy is the forum and a private sale -Is Rock Island a good source? Premiums seem high but the guns look nice. -Last resort would likely be a source like autoweapons, Im guessing...? Thanks for the tips. Oh, and a nice little Colt Thompson breakdown video here on YouTube... Reminds me of a very informative video Gijive did several years ago. ron_brock
If you want a Colt, this should be your first stop.https://www.amazon.com/Amateurs-Guide-Colts-Thompson-Submachine/dp/1794453814/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?keywords=colt+thompson&qid=1568080900&s=gateway&sr=8-1Word of mouth on this site and in the Thompson clubs are great ways to find a Colt. All the other usual sources are fine too. Ron
giantpanda4
A good start is to attend a Thompson event. TATA was already in August this year, TCA is coming up in September. I know for a fact that there will be a nice Colt #6781 for sale at TCA.
