Not FA/BAR Mike it's F/A BAR... a Full Auto BAR.

I looked for 6 months and found them at a high of $46K for a Winchester, it's still there too two years later, and $20K for a Nesco in excellent condition. I got offered a Group Ind. for $26K that looked like a POS, I still have the photos...ugly...then one night on this forum someone mentioned one on Auctionarms. I contacted the owner about the reserve price and bid exactly that and damned if I didn't get it for $18K with 13 mags, a BAR belt, extra barrel and more. Main thing is to be patient and keep looking, the market is down farther than it was when I got mine so you have a good chance of scoring...Good Luck.

Hawkeye: Duh! Double Duh! I should have recognized what F/A meant. Actually my intent is to get a semi-auto BAR to shoot while I'm amassing the coin it would take to buy a "real" one. I've just got to heal up some from buying six subguns in 2008.

Well, I've got one of those semi-auto M1918A3 BARs on the way. It was pricey but I'm going to be 60 in a few months and not fond of waiting for something I want. Someday if or when finances allow I'll go for a F/A.

If this Montana winter doesn't ease up I'm going to wind up jump starting the economy all on my own! In the last two weeks besides the BAR I've bought a German K43, an Inglis Hi Power 9mm (P35) with shoulder stock, and a Nazi marked FN P35. Next I'm eyeing one of those SVT40s! Please let there be sunshine soon!

Mike,

It'll be interesting to hear how you like the new BAR when you get it.. I'd bet a good magazine article wouldn't be too far behind!

I haven't fired mine yet. The weather has been so crappy. The gate is still snowed in at the range down the road. (Not a fancy one, just a huge gravel pit!)
