I am sure someone can tell me this.

Who do I call to find out the status on a Form 4?

If I call the BATFE, does anyone know what phone number (specificaly) I call?

What info do I need to provide them with?

Is there a website I can find out the status from?

Thanks,

Norm

Call 202-927-8330, tell them you are checking on status of a transfer, give them the serial number, and that you are the transferee. They can tell you when the check was cashed, if the transfer is pending, approved or declined. Its been a couple of years but I think I rememberd the procedure correctly.

ATF is jammed up with all the dreamers who submitted Form 1's based on the Stewart ruling. People were even submitting forms from states other than those under the jurisdiction of the 9th Circuit.

Jay (and others),

I called the number (thanks Jay! biggrin.gif ) and they said that it went "pending" on March 15 (Ides of March! ohmy.gif )

What does this mean as far time goes? 90 days? That would June 15, correct?

No expert here, but I'm not sure that "pending" means much beyond an indication that your paperwork has been received and the process has been started. Two months after the transfer of my WH M1 went pending, I got a request for additional paperwork, a "citizenship certification". Approval came another 90 days later.

The answer to your original question is buried in the fine print on the part of the form 4 that most of us tear off, never read, and throw away.
