HHollow
I submitted a FOIA request on a semi-auto that was sumbitted to atf as sample (I think). The alphabet boys deniaed the request. I apealed and narrowed my request considerably to documents I know existed. The reply was that my request was too much like a firearms trace. Got squat. av8tr
I must be missing something. What Federal database of Information would be available/accessed to provide anything of historic relevance on a German P08?
huggytree
i dont know...i was hoping some papers a GI used to bring it into the country...most likely just went in a duffel bag and no papers im just asking...id love to find any history on the gun as i know there is history on it....im reaching for anything to find something out
Tman
Huggy, there would be no record of that pistol kept by ATF as there is no database or registry for those firearms. If the gun was previously traced by a law enforcement entity, then there would be a record of that but only if the pistol was imported after 1968. That was when importers were required to mark imported guns and keep records of their disposition.
Devious6
Have you posted it on any of the specialty Luger forums/threads? It's a real shot in the dark but you might find someone who had it or know of it. I lucked out with this WWII Nazi-occupied Belgian Hi-Power - all original and stamped with Waffenamps - my father-in-law gave it to me and we found the capture paperwork in his old files.
