  1. It looked like there was a number there but it was tucked under the rear site and I couldn't see if it clearly. V/R Ron
  2. Much appreciated! Did you have any that listed a IRS number that did have a factory serial number but that serial number was NOT listed on the Amnesty paperwork? V/R Ron
  3. Hi Folks, I've been offered a Amnesty registered M2 carbine and this is the first time I've ever seen one. The serial number starts with IRS and then numbers. It was engraved on the left hand side of the receiver below the wood line. Did the ATF/IRS just issue a new number during the Amnesty? V/R Ron
  4. I appreciate the info. I guess we will repair the bolt then. V/R Ron
  5. Off topic but I recognize that range in your profile picture ;-) That being said, did you shoot the Bren while you were there? V/R Ron
  6. Did you just clean (and square) the ground down bolt face and re-use it in your build? V/R Ron
  7. Hi Folks, I recently picked up several mint Russian kits and two of them are missing most of the receiver pieces, to include the spines that rear grip assembly locks into. Do you folks have a source for the parts that are need to be riveted to the receiver side plates? V/R Ron
  8. If you want some great magazines that don't cost much and you have some spare time, you can modify the Belgian Vigneron 32-round magazines quite easily. I use an angle grinder with 120 grit sand disc to hit the front, rear and sides of the magazine until smooth. I would recommend using a set of calipers to get a starting point and go from there. Once done with reducing the size of the portion of the magazine that inserts into the well, you will have to open the front portion of the feed lips just slightly I use a cheap Harbor Freight metal punch/chisel that's tapered. It's the larger to medium-sized unit and just tap it in slight and it will allow the bullets to feed at the proper angle. I have approximately eight MP-40's and the parts that we go through on a regular basis include the extractor, bolt handle coming off and rarely the ejector wears out. We have lost two sets of the telescoping recoil spring but I blame that on lack of changing out the recoil springs on a timely basis. V/R Ron
