M1-A1 russian lend lease demilled
Brian06 replied to wolfie's topic in Thompson Submachine Gun Message Board
Did you order these overseas or was the seller here in the U.S.? How much are these things going for now? It seems like most of the value has been destroyed :nutkick: -

May I ask where this warehouses are located and if they are looking to sell this stuff in bulk? -
Mini Thompson M1A1 Came Home
Brian06 replied to timkel's topic in Thompson Submachine Gun Message Board
Please tell me you have a video of it shooting! -
I vaguely remember it coming up before. I believe they welded up on the breachface to make it small enough for the 9mm and then milled it out. I imagine it was probably after WWII, or possibly a german capture and convert(you see pictures of Germans with them once and a while)??? I know the Germans captured and converted PPSH41s to 9mm and used MP42 mags. I'll let someone else chime in more definitively though.

Pristine Thompson 1928 A1 Dewat

What's with the M1A1 sight on this? This looks like a fun project, but I don't have the money -
This is Certainly Bizarre
Brian06 replied to Big Al's topic in Thompson Submachine Gun Message Board
From looking at parts kits and everything, I don't see any reason why it would not work even if it was cut down. There is plenty of room in the bolt cavity for it to be shorter and I have always wondered if anyone had actually done it. If such things were legal, cheaper, and not so destructive of historical devices, I would probably try such things myself. Even if the meaty rear half of a bolt were cut in half, it would still likely function in a Thompson as it would still be long enough to keep the bolt from getting cockeyed in the channel. As long as the lower and the receiver were shortened to accommodate the smaller bolt (to keep the recoil spring from binding), it would probably work (you would probably also want a stiffer recoil spring since you have a lighter bolt moving backwards with more force). -

If only we could own these things for a reasonable price here in the USA, I am incredibly jealous! -
Value Of A Sparks-Withington XXX Magazine
Brian06 replied to Brian06's topic in Thompson Submachine Gun Message Board
I looked at the pinned section and used the pictures to match the magazine to the picture. I don't really have any use for it for the time being, so I'm think I'm going to sell it and was wondering what the fair market value would be. -
Gangster Squad Movie Trailer
Brian06 replied to dalbert's topic in Thompson Submachine Gun Message Board
I saw it the other day, everything seems pretty accurate. I did notice at least one of the silenced guns was a silenced grease gun, but another one looked like it may have been a pistol. I was also pretty angry about the 1911s that weren't cocked. I was also pissed that they cut out that movie theater scene that they showed in the previews! -

Oh come on, it's because only movie stars and rich people should own guns! :slap: -
Gangster Squad Movie Trailer

Yeah, I loved the guns and action in Wind Talkers, but the acting was terrible and the cheesy lines they had in the movie were awful, pretty much made me skip any scenes without gun play and explosions -
Thompson M1A1 With Suppressor
Brian06 replied to Devil Dog 1110's topic in Thompson Submachine Gun Message Board
I think this was a discussion before and someone even had some pictures. From what I recall it was an M1 Thompson with a Chrysler made silencer? -
Man they don't make kids toys as cool as they used to!

http://www.dandbmilitaria.com/Weapon-Parts-and-Furniture/?page=4 Here is a link for the stock sets you were talking about. Has anyone ever ordered from these guys? How much was shipping & everything? -
Well, I came across this thing. It is kind of like a Thompson, it looks like it uses a lot of the same parts, but also seems like the illegitimate love child of a Thompson and god knows what else. http://www.ar15.com/forums/t_7_118/1062670_For_Sale_BRP_STG_M1A_and_M11_9_with_Lage_Upper.html Anywho, I'm not affiliated with this seller at all, I just came across this and was wondering if anyone knew anything about this thing and what it is.

Doug Richardson's New Receivers

I hope I'm not out of line by suggesting pictures. -
Well, someone got a great deal then, I hope it was someone on here. I was thinking that Laders was supposed to be like the bill of lading.

I found this while cruising the internet: http://www.gunauction.com/buy/11406031/magazine-clips/rifle-magazine-clips/thompson-magazines-2c-30rnd.-mags-2c-45acp Looks like a good deal for someone willing to buy in bulk for brand new magazines. THESE ARE NOT MINE AND I AM NOT AFFILIATED WITH THE SELLER.

I thought that someone might want to pick up these: http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=304380383 This is NOT my auction. I just found it on GB and thought that someone here would appreciate these.

If I were going into WWII, this is the exact load-out I would want to have, except for all of the explosives, I'd get rid of those in a hurry but keep the grenades. Also, notice the trench knife and what looks like a modified 1911 holster. -
Another Pic - M1 in WWII w/ Vertical Foregrip
Brian06 replied to Hawkeye_Joe's topic in Thompson Submachine Gun Message Board
It took me a bit to find the M1A1, but I noticed the soldier wearing the P38 immediately! I guess if you didn't have a side-arm to start with, you wouldn't be opposed to picking one up -
1942 Video With Thompsons
Brian06 replied to wb1876's topic in Thompson Submachine Gun Message Board
I believe that they didn't really care about safety, especially since they would fire live ammo over soldier's heads to simulate real combat conditions!
