  1. I'm a bit confused. The side is marked M1, which had the bolt handle on the right side and different sights. Then the receiver was reworked into a 1928 model?
  2. " And also he could only trade one of the guns, because the other didn't have a clear registration" How can a Sheriff's Office not have clear registration on one of their weapons?
  3. This is one of my favorite war movies. Errol Flynn was one hell of a fantastic actor. I read that the Queen got pissed at him for playing a Colonist in this movie, this was due cause he was born in Tazmania, Australia and a subject to the Queen. I also read that he had to meet with Her Majesty to explain that the movie was Hollywood and not a real story!
  4. QUOTE (adlake @ Jul 30 2007, 03:44 AM)Red9 Posted on Jul 25 2007, 08:08 PM -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Red9 How do you get a hold of them? (Pacific Canvas) You wouldn't happen to have a picture of it?-Adlake Here's their web site http://www.pacificcanvasandleather.com/car...se/pcl_41_m.htm It's really well made and very sturdy. It heavy duty all around. They also make a nice cover for the M1A1 Paratrooper carbine that I also have.
  5. "South Carolina requires state registration of ALL NFA firearms" Ok, now I'm really confused. We are looking into moving from Florida to the Greenville area of South Carolina. I wrote to SLED regarding my Thompson. SLED advised to let ATF know of the move (5320 Form), nothing else to do with SLED. I also sent a letter to the Greenville County Sheriff about the same thing. He says all I have to do is to get it approved by ATF, nothing more to do with his office. Now I read in this thread that NFA firearms require state registration in SC. Can someone that owns a NFA firearm in South Carolina shed some light on the subject?
  6. If you want a really nice and well made repro , Pacific Canvass makes a Thompson cover that is OD and heavy duty. I saw it advertised on Gunlist a couple of years back and bought it for $50. It it nothing like the SG bag.
  7. artie I think that when the big turkey turns over in hell, another turkey is gonna grab control, hope I'm wrong. My self and a couple of buddies went to Costa Rica in 1983 for some R&R. We went to a farm that was near the Nicaraguan border and spoke with a couple of ranchers who had two select fire Fals with the Republica de Cuba emblem on the receivers. The campesinos claimed that they exchanged two cows to the Sandinistas for the Fals. Hum, I wonder how a Cuban Fal from Batista's order from Fabrique National in the late 1950's made it into the Comminist Sandinista's hands?
  8. Fidel Castro is pictured in history as a giant of a man. In reality, he's a coward and a murderer who has kept an entire nation under his thumb since 1959. Even during his tenure in La Havana University, he could not win one single election to any of the student held offices. He promised to re-instate the Cuban 1948 Constitution (Similar to our US Const.), have free and democratic government with free elections...............you know the rest. The Thompsons and Reisings and other US arms that Castro inherited were part of Fulgencio Batista's weapons. Those are all gone, finding themselves as armament for subversive groups throughout the globe thanks to El Comandante.
  9. They arrived today. I was pleasently surprised! The mags are AO and they are mint, so is the pouch which is unmarked but it has a couple of small storage marks. I just don't get SG. This delivery required an adult signature, yet a couple of weeks ago, they shipped me 400 rds. of 54R that were left by UPS by my front door.
  10. Thanks for the replies. I should receive my mags today and hopefully they are AO marked and in good condition.
  11. I ordered a set of five 20-round mags and five cell mag pouch from Sportmans Guide for $99, less $10 coupon. I've seen the 20 rounders from $14up to $25 a piece. They advertise it as original WWII that the Russians had in storage. Condition is listed as excellent. Has anyone one ordered these mags?
  12. Thanks full auto for your help. I just recently retired and we are looking to possibly relocate to South Carolina, and just wanted a time frame on how long it takes for the answer.
  13. I know that if you move within the same state, it is not required to notify ATF of the move since you are still in the original state. When moving to another state, form 5320.20 must be completed with the pertinent information. How long is the turnaround to get this form back? How long did it take for the members who have submitted this form?
  14. Great! That makes me very happy! I really appreciate all the input provided. http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif
  15. I own a WWII Auto Ord. M1A1. I just fired last week over 500 rounds of the Lawman ammo. My Tommy gobbled it up! I really haven't had any problems with any ammo in my gun, even reloads.
