  1. Congrats! Very nice looking example!!!! I currently have an original finish matching Haenel FXO 41 in similar condition with a serial number very very close to yours in ATF jail right now. Form 4 efiled in early May. Thanks for posting photos of yours. Dan
  2. Note the “repositioning washer” around the fire control selector and there is no gap between its one piece trigger housing and the receiver tube. Laidler does discuss these limited produced STEN guns and their short comings.
  3. Anyone else notice that particular STEN appears to be a rare wrap around model? I believe less than 1% of STEN guns produced were of this type due to a flaw that would cause the gun to get debris in the receiver and would cause failure to fire. Most of these STEN guns were parted out and the receivers were ordered destroyed. Original wrap around STEN guns are exceedingly rare today.
  4. Are there any Missouri SOT board members who can help with a transfer of a NFA sub-gun on an ATF Form 3? Or Can anybody recommend a reliable Missouri SOT that they have used in the past for an out of state purchase? Thanks, Dan
  5. Still looking...original wartime blued finished, matching, MP40 non-rewat / non tube gun. Dan
  6. Outstanding article!!! Great personal stories from the vet about the war and its lasting effects.
  7. Still looking for that “right” original finish & matching MP40. Thanks, Dan
  8. Gents, Thank-you for everyone's thoughts on Spiwak's MP40. This one checks a lot of the boxes that I am looking for but I am going to take Ron's advise..."I always mention to buyers get the best you can find and afford don't settle for whats out there/Because you will have to upgrade later on a never ending task" and pass on this one. So still looking. Thanks, Dan
  9. If the gun is a C&R gun and you have a valid C&R license the gun can be shipped directly to you after ATF approves the transfer paperwork.
  10. With the B prefix in-front of the serial number the Sten was manufactured/assembled by the Birmingham Small Arms (BSA) Company Limited.
  11. I am still looking for an original finish matching MP40. I was considering the BNZ41 listed on David Spiwaks website... https://www.davidspi...riginal-finish/ It went Pending several weeks ago...now it is listed for sale again. I did ask if the serial numbers are matching throughout the gun and they are. I did ask if there was any indication the gun is a re-wat and David said it is not a re-wat gun. I did ask for better photos of the few spots of oxidation on the right side of barrel - photos attached. Does anybody see anything with this gun that would indicate not original finish collector messed with MP40? Thanks, Dan
  12. When you are ready to buy I would make it known here what you are looking for and also post a wanted ad on Sturmgewehr. I have purchased both my Thompsons directly from board members / collectors. If you are looking for a M1 or M1A1 with original finish they are out there but you will have to look longer for a gun with original finish. Also, if you don’t already have a C&R license get one and then you can avoid involving a Class III dealer / SOT.
  13. I am looking to buy an original wartime blued finished, matching, MP40 non-rewat / non tube gun. If any collector on the board has a MP40 to sell or knows of someone who does (collector/dealer) I would be an interested buyer. I purchased my Colt Thompson 1921AC from a board member after posting a topic like this and would prefer to deal with a fellow board member / collector. Please PM me through the board if you have something and we can talk. Thanks, Dan Foristell, MO
