  1. Military 1928 barrels seem to have dried up thanks to the import ban. I see Apex Gun Parts has new made ones available. Does anyone have experience with them or any other recommendation for a spare barrel.
  2. Probably increased sensitivity following the Vegas shooting. I have been at a holiday inn where every one there was a shooter in the cmp games and were cleaning m1 garand in the parking lot. That was a few years ago.
  3. My bet is the Remington UMC ammo. I have experienced that exact variance using that ammo in 9mm in an uzi. Try another brand.
  4. The real problem with carrying a thompson for combat would be the ammo weight not the weapon itself. 230gr ball adds up quickly on the belt. What was a standard load 200 rounds? Probably want more than that for a subgun in a conflict zone.
  5. Successful run today. Using blazer brass emptied the drum in 4 or 5 burst no stoppages.
  6. 6.5 gr CFE pistol with zero 230 gr FMJ and S&B primers
  7. I actually got my calipers out and the rivets are aligned from the center points. There is a 0.020" difference in the width of the feed lips from the front to back. I think my problem may be my reloads are hotter and I have a higher cyclic rate, they were worked up in a 1911 and M10/45 and I think are too warm with the longer Thompson barrel. I have some blazer brass I need to dig out and try next outing and maybe get some S&B. I am shooting in a 1928AC I have had since late February. It performs flawlessly with any stick mag I have tried and the Taiwanese L drums. http://i379.photobucket.com/albums/oo240/Sandlewood_3/Mobile%20Uploads/20170706_180046_zpsanroed7r.jpg http://i379.photobucket.com/albums/oo240/Sandlewood_3/Mobile%20Uploads/20170706_180404_zpsa8tegtvm.jpg Here is the greasing tool I made for cheap with a 1/2" pvc end cap and 6mm zerks with a cheap drill bit / tap set from Amazon. If I have to grease again I'll sand the top of the cap down to make a flat spot for more reliable clamping, but it worked for the 2 L's and 1 C I needed to grease. http://i379.photobucket.com/albums/oo240/Sandlewood_3/Mobile%20Uploads/20170706_180222_zpsbux9rczi.jpg
  8. I had stoppages on my GPC c drum as well. My stoppages seem to be after the first outer ring gets fired and then I go into what seem to be 6 round bursts until the last 20 where it dumps them. There was a bend on my drum on the same spot as the above picture. I straightened it but won't get to the range for a while. The other observation I have is one of my bullet guides at the feedlips is not riveted parallel to the other. Need to measure It is pointing in towards the other slightly and I think the rotor may be hitting it. I am 0 for 3 on the drum running. I greased it after attempt 1. I'll get a picture tomorrow.
  9. Government waste. Even the parts less receiver would be worth 2k. Not sure I understand the post above, but I would have appeared to be at on time registered so I assume it was transferred without the appropriate taxes and was thus contraband?
  10. Thanks. Probably be next weekend before I get my kitchen pass to go to the range and try it out.
  11. Silly question, but I got mine yesterday and I can fit 101 rounds in it. The first position is one in the single rotor arm. Should I just leave that one out?
