  1. I apologize for not following up. Been getting back into the building mood and rediscovered this board. To answer a few questions, The airsoft mag well is larger than the mags. I had to spot weld in some sheet metal to make the mag fit snug. The Airsoft mag catch/release works as is Parts seem to be holding up just fine. Live fire with the 16 barrel is like a sewing machine. Blanks are still finnicky Ive had a lot of requests to make them but, Im just a home builder and not a manufacturer
  2. I read a few references to early WH semis using modified FA bolts. Looks as if it will not work in my newer Kahr receiver
  3. Ive got 3 semi bolts to compare. Can anyone correctly identify which type these are? Type I, II, III? The bolt with the squared firing pin does not close completely on the chamber. The cocking slot is too short. The other 2 bolts fit and work fine when assembled.
  4. I milled out a finger notch in the M3 bolt like the M3a1. It works with the shorter ejection port since the AR trigger resets at a shorter distance. The cocking lever is not functional with trigger clearance and required bolt milling. It does work as a sort of bolt hold open!
  5. More pics. Modified ejection port hinge for the M3 cover
  6. Perfectly fine to own. Im looking for some 1928a1 chunks like that myself
  7. Im using Atlantic wall 45 smg blanks. The barrel is chambered for crimped blanks only and has a restricted bore similar to other blank only barrels. I plan to make more collars and 16 barrels for live fire eventually. Im still working out aperture sizes for reliable cycling. I live in town and re-enactments are still a few months away. The housings are decent and should hold up to blank and live fire. The fire control group area may prove to be a weak point after serious ammo dumping over time. Well see. Ive looked at a Dunrite Armory bfong that uses these same airsoft guns and it was all but rattled apart with ovaled out trigger pins.
  8. These are made using the Matrix M3a1 airsoft from Evike.com. The M3a1 was my first build. The M3 came next with some improvements. Both use original Bolts and guide rods/springs. The bolts are drilled for a firing pin and milled for AR hammer clearance and M3a1 finger cocking slot. The barrel collars are machined to match the Metric thread pitch of the airsoft housing. The mag well is larger than original so sheet steel is added inside the fit the mags. The M3a1 uses thealuminum airsoft ejector housing while the M3 was cut and narrowed to fit an original. (The cocking lever moves but doesnt function) I machined a custom trigger pack for the M3a1 but went with a drop in AR trigger pack for the M3 build. Both use original triggers linked to the AR trigger via a transfer bar
  9. Just wanted to share a pic of my semi auto Grease Gun projects. These are built from airsoft housings and have FA denials, blank only non barrels, AR15 trigger groups and semi auto bolt modifications. Just finished parkerizing them.
  10. Interesting. I purchased 2 sets of grease gun springs from Apex. The Type 1 set is identical in length and wire diameter to my recoil spring out of 1928a1. 11.25 - 11.5 long. Very stiff springs. The Type 2 springs are smaller diameter wire and longer. About 14.5 long. Much lighter spring rate. Either Apex sent me the wrong springs or there is a notable difference in springs between the M3 and M3a1
  11. How does one go about attaching the guide rods to the smaller unattached plate?
  12. I might be interested in the cut stock if you can salvage it. I do have a couple airsoft M3a1 stocks. They are pretty close to originals and also work to load mags. They are not drilled/tapped for a cleaning brush though
  13. Whats your plan with the Valkyrie stock once its removed? Im looking for a M3 stock for one of my builds. Apex did have M3a1 stocks for a while
  14. How is the shopping at Knob Creek when it comes to Greasers? Ive never been
