  4. Up for auction Brian http://www.amoskeagauction.com/59/auction59.html
  5. I sold one many years ago to Bill Douglas in Florida. Must have been mid 1990's. Seems like the prices haven't really changed, unless my memory has. Brian
  6. Not mine. Just saw it on GB http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem....p?Item=67910454 brian
  7. I have a C&R chromed savage 28 that I am going to re-finish. The serial number is s-35781. Should this be blued or parked? I figure that the finish is already non-original so as long as the markings are not affected, I have nothing lose. The purpose of the refinish would be to make the gun easier to sell. No one wants a "bling" Thompson Thanks Brian http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n223/laurablaire/guns/savage/1928savage014.jpg
  8. Yep, that one's mine. Selling it to fund my 21/28 Colt More pictures if anyone wants them Thanks Brian
  9. 1928 Savage serial number S-35781. Matching upper and lower. Proper New York address and patent dates. Smooth barrel, Cutts comp, vertical grip, Lyman sight, “S” marked internals. Amnesty registered 1.29.69 and the next transfer was on 4.13.05 per Freedom of Information Act paperwork. The vet that registered it had the gun and the Bridgeport drum chromed. $20,000 Thanks Brianhttp://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n223/laurablaire/guns/savage/1.jpg
  10. Auction over. Somebody thought it was worth the 35k. Brian
  11. I found a 27 colt that has a metal plate installed next to the original serial number. The original serial number is 5286 and the number on the tag is 320. The owner is claiming the serial number is actually 320. Is this typical of an original semi 27 colt? It is difficult to determine from the photos if the milled areas are still in the white. The finish on the entire piece is pretty marginal, probably 70-75%. All the components appear to be correct for a colt. TIA Brian
  12. Anyone else see the 1927 on Sturm yesterday? I caught it as soon as it was posted. Buddy then deleted it for no town in the title. It was a supposed 98% finish all original 27 for $38,000. Told him I would take it provided he could supply proof of what was being sold such as a FOIA with photos. Local dealer drove to his house with funds in hand and bought it. I am now second in line. So close.... Oh well Brian
  13. Savage with numbers matching upper and lower Brian
  14. No idea who did the plating. Gun came to me from Florida maybe 5 years ago Brian
