  1. Hello! Did you ever get your Bell labs can? If so would you be so kind as to post a detailed photo of it and/or it's parts? I am an SOT/ 02/07 MFR with an M3 and 2 M3A1 posties. I would like to build a registered re-pro OSS model suppressor for my M3. Thanks for any help. I did recently locate a schematic on the net but it was blurry and I could not make out the details. Thanks for any help on this... Edo Southwest Virginia NFA fan and shooter...
  2. Greetings to all fans of the legendary Grease Gun M3/M3A1 ! I'm a Vietnam vet (USN) 59-64 and working on a memorial sculpture to honor our military who have served overseas and come back bent, broken in both body and spirit. It also is meant to bring attention to those who are working so hard to take away our 2nd amendment rights and ultimately our guns. I started with what was left of an M3A1 which appears to have been run over by a tank, torched into many pieces and then put miserably back together as a display gun. When I got it I worked over it with a torch and got all the Bondo off and found a dowel inside holding it all together. Since then I re-constructed the mangled pieces on a base made from military surplus gears into a vertical assembleage which is now a monument to all I mentioned above.. I still am missing some parts so that I can complete this and show it at some fitting venues. I.E. The Vietnam Veterans Art Gallery among others. Can anyone out there supply me with a bent trigger guard, a dented lower housing for the trigger/rear assembly, a mangled bolt and a flash hider? I have a good extra flash hider that I don't need that I can't bring myself to bend up. I will be happy to trade this item for some of the parts I've described. I also need a magazine which is bent up/worn out, etc.(I have a good one which I would be happy to trade for some of the needed parts as well) Thanks for any help on this worthwhile project and God Bless America and our 2nd Amendment Gun Rights too! Sincerely, Ed Biggar 276 620 8595 AKA Edo-artneon Draper,VA.
  3. Sorry Guys! I somehow thought if I put this in new posts it would find the right place. My wife has agreed to met out the correct punishment for my infraction. Never again... I guess I'm the proud owner of a classical, if not historic paperweight. Thanks for the help... EDO
  4. Greetings to all interested board members! I recently found 3 saw cut parts of what appears to be a BAR receiver (front to back) in my pile of waiting to be post sample builds, display guns,etc.. The item I'm looking at is marked on the top rear section Browning patented 1937. Right side fabrique 9846 Looking forward on the same side d'armes de guerre Belgique. Front section under actuator slot M R S which has the barrel threads. The left sides of the 3 sections have nothing at all in the way of markings. I have a number of FND BAR parts including, barrel, bi pod, trigger group, 2 bolts and the rear stock (complete with all hardware) all of which I hoped to fit together with the 3 cut receiver sections and nothing fits. Any advise on what BAR parts kit I might get to put together a display gun or post sample would be appreciated. Thanks for any help on this... EDO in SWEST VA.
  5. Here I go again! I just got the book right before I posted my questions as to the credentials of the author. When I worded my post I was being diplomatic as I after reading the book cover to cover (as I do with all Thompson material I get my hands on.) I decided this guy didn't know S..T from Shinola and the book was certainly not worth anywheres close to what I paid for it. To you who said you would put it on your next gunshow table I hope you meant to warn the public about it. To sell it to the unknowing would be akin to the the sins of the publisher and writer. I have the original prints of the forward grip mount on the TSMG and the one on page 95 of the book in question shows the mounting bolt hole to be straight not angled and you can go on and on about how much BS is in this book...P.S. how about the crappy example of a Thompson he used in the photos? It has a cracked stock and two common screws on the side holding it together. Edo
  6. Hello Jim! I sent you a few postcards while I was out there but you never replied. My first stop after my arrival was to visit Phillidelphia ord. and the very well informed Recon Bob. I believe I mentioned that I was expecting the book in question to be waiting for me when I fanally arrived home to Southwest Virginia. I don't remember if he responded to the book as he was showing me some very interesting products. You see I am an old customer of Philidelphia Ord. and have sucessfully used a number of Bob's fine products over the years. How about guiding me to a link to the two writings you quoted in your reply so I can get caught u?. Yes, I have been accused of being lost in the 60's but I believe it to be the 50's... Thanks for any help on my quest and your kind words as well. Regards, Edo
  7. Greetings to all you guys who fancy the Grease gun, especially Timkel. I'm the lucky guy who got the M3 stock from you some time ago. I finished my project soon after you sent me that part and my wife (who really likes how the slow cycle runs) took many turns shooting it at the Knob Creek Shoot a few times ago. Without Tim's help I think I would still be looking for a stock. Now that I've got some sucessful projects under my belt I might just try to bend one up if the need arises. There are prints available out there (I just found mine rolled up on my work bench the other day. I would like to try my hand at building a .45 can Liberator and wonder if anyone out there has any bits and pieces for sale. Good luck on finding that stock. When I was looking for mine I called Machine Gun Dave and tried to talk him out of some parts off his company's one remaining complete Grease Gun. No go for that idea... Edo
  8. Hi James! I recently built a \n Uzi and I started with a Gunparts parts set and got an 80 % receiver from a company in Texas for $95.00. I found it offered on Gunbroker. If this doesn't help I think I have his number in my phone. Hope this helps. Edo
  9. Greetings group! I just got my new copy of The Machinists Guide to the Thompson Submachine Gun .45 Caliber 1928A1 written by: Peter Linton. It does not give any information on the author, his experience in machining, gunsmithing, shooting the TSMG or any other pertinent facts about Mr. Linton. I would like to start a discussion about this very interesting/mysterious book. Who out there has a copy or knows anything about the author or his Thompson credentials? Thanks for any help on this quest... Regards, Ed Biggar (AKA Thompson Fan) Draper, VA.
  10. Hello Bug! I went over to that site and couldn't find anything but got some rivets, etc from Indianapolis Armory. Still can't find a u shaped wire connector for the mag insert. Gun Parts is out of them. Any suggestions from any of you guys out there. Thanks, Ed Biggar (AKA) Edo
  11. Greetings MG Boarders! I just received my 80% receiver from Bob @ Phillie Ord and am very happy, It is an extremely nice product. I recently bought one of the last Swedish K parts kits from a dealer in such items and it was missing the wire U bracket which holds on the mag well adapter. Does anyone out there know of any sources for K parts? I would like to find a rivet set, a to scale template for the receiver and any spares that I might need in the future. I am licensed to build Post samples so I am going to put together a FA from what I have and am able to locate. I could also use some original K mags as well. Any and all help from you guys familiar with the K gun will be appreciated. Cheers from a still very hot Southwest Virginia... Edo BCM ffl 02 07/mfr SOT

  13. Hello Ross! I have tried to find your Reising parts kit listing with no luck. Could you send me a link and are you interested in any Thompson 28 or M1A1 parts as a trade? Thanks... Ed Biggar 276 620 8595
  14. Sorry to hear about Merle and his by-pass, glad it was successful. I was beginning to wonder about my pending .22 kit order and now I know what's going on. Take care Merle and get lots of rest. When you are able, please put me on the list for 2 of the spare bolts and my original kit order. Get well soon! Regards, Ed Biggar AKA Edo
  15. Greetings All! I just read the post about there being a special gas piston for the M-2. Can anyone out there tell me about this and where one would get one if it is true? I have a Plainfield paratrooper which had a number of M-2 parts in it when it arrived. Also, just heard about the original early models (U.S. gov. Win. or Inland) having a forged rod instead of the later stamped version which is said to flex too much and causes malfunctions. All help welcome.. Thanks from Edo
  16. Thanks Chris! All is installed and workiing well. I got a Sten mag well with the ejector inside. I removed said U clip with ejector the other day and now I'm in full auto mode. Thanks for all the help. Cheers from cloudy Southwest Virginia... Edo
  17. Hi Board mambers! I have been working on a Sten Mark III and have gone and misplaced another small part again. I need the ejector and screw (flat head) that holds it in the mag well. Can anyone out there help me out? You might ask, how did I lose that thing, and I would answer" The same way I lost the barrel nut spring on my Grease gun!!!" Thanks to Chris on this board I have a replacement which just came in the mail today. Good job Chris on that spring I lost! Any help on this quest would be greatly appreciated. Cheers from cold and rainy SW Virgini...I now have a single shot Sten waiting to become fully operational... Edo

  19. Hello again! You can go to Gunbroker.com and type in 219580081 it is a Thompson blueprint listing by ellocodiablo. You can contact him through one of his current listings about the Grease gun drawings/blurprints. As far as my listing for a benchtop heat treating furnace it is one of my edo-artneon listings # 220088389. Good luck in your quest. What kind of M3A1/M3 parts do you need? Edo in Virginia 276 620 8595
  20. Hello! You can go to Diablo on Gunbroker.com or just type m3a1 grease gun plans. While you are there you can see my listing for a table model heat treating furnace listed by edo-artneon. This is a great item if you are planning on making any parts that require special steels and /or heat treating. I have one and it's very handy. Good luck from Edo in Virginia. Ed Biggar 276 620 8595

  22. Hello out there! I have my FFL 02/07 mfr and have built some post sample guns to date. I would like to know if any of you who do the same (build guns) have any experience with the Hermes ITF-K II engraver. I have been paying from $20 to $30 for each of my products to be engraved with my information and assigned serial number as required by the BATF. I would like to purchase an affordable engraver to do this myself. I have read on the machinists boards that 07/SOT's do use the kinds of engravers in lieu of a mill capable of engraving with a CAD system. Any help in the right direction would be greatly appreciated. Thanks... Edo in Virginia 276 620 8595
  23. Hi again Chris! I still need a trigger pin and the wretched ratchet spring. What are they worth? In the current Numrich book the pin is: $3.70 the ratchet spring is: $5.70 and the extractor is: $22.25. Of course they don't have any in stock at present. Anyway I paid high market value for my extractor so what do you think your better ratchet spring and the trigger pin are worth, since I need them kinda bad? Please let me know. Edo
  24. Hello Chris! Yes, if anyone can loose a small obscure part , I can. You see, I was building a demo M3A1 and I removed that part from a torched parts kit to use it on the Medea receiver halves I welded a good receiver out of and lo and behold somewhere between my parts room and shop it vaporized. I think I might have another one somewhere that is NOS but I've spent days looking for it to no avail. The extractor that I have cost me $50 plus shipping and I would like to keep it as I have another bolt for a spare. Would you take cash for one of your ratchet springs? If not, what else do you have to trade for equal value? Thanks for any and all help. Edo in Virginia 276 620 8595
  25. Hello again from Edo in S.W. Virginia! I recently bought an extractor from a guy on Gun Broker. com. It cost $50.00 and the one in the photo looked to be NOS as the price led me to believe. When it arrived it had a nick from the retaining pin on the upper rear side. I called the seller and he told me to send it back. I decided it was a minor flaw and did not want to take a chance on the postage system, etc. So I have kept it. I do think he should have made a price difference since it was not NOS but he didn't offer (probably because he doesn't know me). He is still listing extractors on the website (one at a time for $50). MY LATEST NEED: I have lost my M3A1 grease gun barrel ratchet spring and need another one. I know there are some out there in the original wrap. Can anyone help me find another one? I know as soon as I get another I will find the lost one. I have successfully built 2 so far (an M1 and an M1A1) thanks to some of you guys on the boards help. Thanks and any help on this latest quest will be greatly appreciated. I have $$$ and some Thompson parts if this helps bring one out of the woodwork. Cheers from sunny Southwest Virginia... Ed Biggar (AKA Edo) 276 620 8595 Biggar Custom Mfg. Draper,VA.
