  1. You are right OCM! I'm very lucky to have made such a good friend and so close by. He is helping me with the history of my Thompson's connection to the Mob. It was sold to the Mounds Country Club in East St. Louis and it turns out the MCC was owned by Mobsters the MCC had quite a reputation as a gambling & bootlegging joint. If anybody happens to have any info or pictures I would appreciate you sending it to me at paul at 1921ColtThompson dot com
  2. I was over at Bill's place the other day to show him #7969 and he said the book was ready to go to the printer. It will have new pictures and additional info too.

  7. My Form 4 - check cleared my bank on 6-10, approved on 8-11 not sure when it was received by the seller, but that's a sore subject. I got my C&R and that may have sped things up. Grateful to get it this fast! When the postman brings you your Thompson it's a happy day!!!
  8. Well, the wait is over! My Colt arrived yesterday and I've joined the "I shoot my Colt Thompson club". I put one box of Winchester white box through her after disassembly, checking the bore etc. and lubricating. I was very pleased with the way it ran, perfect function with the Colt internals. Today I will put the cut down 1928 actuator in her and save the original Colt one. I want to thank David for this wonderful board, and all the members who have graciously shared their knowledge and time helping me learn more about Thompsons. It has made the wait more bearable. I'll have more questions so be patient as I try to learn more about our hobby. Thanks Amigos! Paul
  9. If anyone is seriously looking at this 21 I could go look at it. It's about a hour away from me.
  10. I'm at the auction and you are correct!!! Some real high prices! JFKs Garand went for 140,000.00 A Nazi pistol 250,000.00. I wasn't in the room when the "bank robber" 1921 sold but was told it brought 75,000.00. These prices are hammer price and do not include the buyer premium of 15%

  14. Well my stamp came in, now I have to wait for my dealer to get back in town so he can ship my Tommy to me. I want to thank everyone for their advice to get a C&R licence, I think it sped things up. I overnighted the paperwork on 6-4 and the transfer was approved on 8-11 pretty fast!
