Im curious about A2 buttstocks. I have one built April 43 and one built sometime 45. Were the early buttstocks left in an unfinished Bakelite brown? Some say no, that its worn out stock with all black removed. I dont think it is because its removed everywhere in that case. Just curious.
No law letter guns always bring interesting money. I think you've got a lot more manufacturers out there than regular dealers compared to previous many years.
Id buy a ww2 gas tube and ditch the carry handle and call it a day. I looked forever for an NESA gun, but everything I found were premays. Add in the typical spares that wear, springs, bolt, firing pin etc.
I bought this gun with full intent of turning it into a modernized BAR. Its a non browning patent Marlin Rockwell gun. After a few months for the sale process to finish out it finally transferred to my dealer where he then sent it to Ravenna Armory. Chris at Ravenna is top notch. He disassembled the gun, stripped the crummy paint finish off, and re-parked it and installed all the early parts I had acquired. Some of what changed is: - early milled rear sight - wood butt stock (with monopod hole etc) - early modified trigger group - ww2 gas tube - early bipod head and refinished the whole thing I have a cut down 1918 hand guard Ill put on when it returns. Super great guy and service. Before: https://i.postimg.cc/65TKD71w/504-CD424-8652-44-A0-818-F-1-FDFA88-BCAE1.jpg After: https://i.postimg.cc/L6RS8CX9/4931888-E-2-C8-B-4-BB0-9832-9-F365461-DCE9.jpg
