texasvwnut
When I was in college a buddy of mine had a can gun that was from the 1950's I think. You would take an empty can (like a soup can) and open the "gun's" mechanism which clamped down around the rim of the unopened end of the can. You then loaded a .22 blank into the "gun", held it over your head and retracted a rod (which was essentially a firing pin) and released it. Doing so ignited the bland and launched the can into the air quite a distance. The unopened end of the can Have any of you owned or seen such a contraption? What are they officially called? I thought that was pretty cool!
jim c 351
I believe such devises might be currently found in outdoor and dog training catalogs. They launch cans to be shot at with shotguns or fetching dummies for dogs to retreve. I haven't looked lately but I'll bet they are still for sale. texasvwnut
Are they called Can Guns or something else? I did a very basic Google search and came up empty. Thanks for the leads.
texasvwnut
OK, I found one. It is called a Targeteer Can Launcher.

texasvwnut
No problem. We had fun with that thing in college. My buddy babied it like it was gold, but those were the days before the internet so I suspect that it would have been hard to replace back then.
