  1. Wide where? I think stocks can be different depending on the age. I have a 1957 Reising that has a wider stock and a stock from a "commercial" parts kit that is thinner.
  2. Bore - Interesting. I've never heard of this. Can chance you could post some photos?
  3. David - In case you're still gathering this information, I picked up another 20 round magazine today. It is marked "NE-1".
  4. I am and I exchanged emails with him today.
  5. As you can see, that should be welded to the receiver. I would think that a competent welder should be able to fix you up. BTW, your front lug looks like it is cracked too.
  6. Are you saying that the anchor point is loose? On the receiver? The anchor point you pictured?
  7. I think that was a folding stock Reising (Model 55), not a Thompson. Actually, I believe they were using Thompsons with the side-folding stock in that movie. This is a M55. They may have used Thompsons as well. I distinctly remember the M55.

  9. No problem. We had fun with that thing in college. My buddy babied it like it was gold, but those were the days before the internet so I suspect that it would have been hard to replace back then.
  10. OK, I found one. It is called a Targeteer Can Launcher.
  11. Are they called Can Guns or something else? I did a very basic Google search and came up empty. Thanks for the leads.
  12. When I was in college a buddy of mine had a can gun that was from the 1950's I think. You would take an empty can (like a soup can) and open the "gun's" mechanism which clamped down around the rim of the unopened end of the can. You then loaded a .22 blank into the "gun", held it over your head and retracted a rod (which was essentially a firing pin) and released it. Doing so ignited the bland and launched the can into the air quite a distance. The unopened end of the can Have any of you owned or seen such a contraption? What are they officially called? I thought that was pretty cool!
  13. I picked up three more 20 round Reising magazines today. One is marked "NE-1". The other two are not marked.
