stiknruddr
Looking at the purchase of either a sideplate DLO 1917 water cooled or a Winchester BAR 1918A1 (unmod). I love both guns and realize they both have pros/cons but just can't decide which to purchase. Any opinions on which one is a better investment? I'm leaning toward the BAR. The 1917 wc is such a great looking setup, but the BAR is such a classic and it's original GI....OK,FIRE!!!!!
John Jr
I would lean toward the BAR. I have a 1919A4. Watercooled costs an extra 2K. Bar by Winchester is the gun out of the two for investing. JMHO Jr
21 smoker
stiknruddr,JohnJr,.. I`ll give you my take on this... having waited a life time for both,I don`t have a clear answer. The BAR is easier to setup at the range and way cool...1917 is a handful to carry and setup but also way cool... I usually need help with belt fed...volunteers...sooo...the BAR gets shot more...spontanious.The 17...more planning but every bit as fun.my.02.out. http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/wink.gif
stiknruddr
Yea, The BAR seems the wiser choice the more I ponder on it. It is a original WWII weapon and it IS a Winchester. I don't know how many Winchester (xferable) BAR's out there but I ain't seen many lately. Thanks for your input/advice.
