Robert Henley
What's a good resource guide for the M60? I saw this book on Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/M60-Machine-Gun-Weapon/dp/1849088446/ref=sr_1_16?ie=UTF8&qid=1439640184&sr=8-16&keywords=m60 Any recommendations by anyone? dalbert
Robert, This is the only M60 book that I am aware of. Of the Osprey books, it's probably the best of the series, but a lot more remains to be written on the M60 by someone in the future. MG08
I think if you know nothing about the M60, it is an ok start. If you are looking for a ton of details, and how to use your gun, or any technical info you will be disapointed. Really depends on what you are lookng for. Take a look here - there is a series on the M60 and it is well done & free. http://machinegunpriceguide.com/html/m60_part_2.HTM The FM and TMs are good on this gun and available free on line, Or I can email them to you. shoot me a PM...... dalbert
I also have a bunch of original M60 manuals available, if you're purely looking for technical or operational information. David Albertdalbert@sturmgewehr.com

83Baron
Speaking of info. what is the opinion on current market value for an original m60e1 Vietnam era m60 by maremont marked Saco. Wondering if about 50k is the current market price. Thanks
Robert Henley
Different manufacturer but here's a current example: http://www.subguns.com/classifieds/index.cgi?db=nfafirearms&website=&language=&session_key=&search_and_display_db_button=on&results_format=long&db_id=26207&query=retrieval Priced at $42,500. I don't know the seller.
83Baron
Thanks Robert. That one is an RIA gun. I assume an original maremont m60e1 would be worth about 10k or so more?
Robert Henley
Anyone see what the asking price was on this one: http://www.subguns.com/classifieds/index.cgi?db=nfafirearms&website=&language=&session_key=&search_and_display_db_button=on&results_format=long&db_id=26217&query=retrieval It sold before I saw it posted. MG08
Robert - if you have specific questions on the M60, drop me a note. I am not a serial number range or "what is the original color of a Maremount blah blah blah gun" but I own 3 m60s, shot them in the Navy and carried one (well, more than one but not at the same time) a lot for a job I had a while back, so I have a lot of practical experience with the system. I prefer them to the 240 as a one man carried support weapon. I have my own slings and ammo bags I take with me to use on Govt supplied equipment. I also have manuals, etc if you need them.
