Can I upload this into a 3D printer and have another Thompson (kidding). Good work. I used to be real good at those CAD drawings but that talent has left me long ago.

A plastic toy gun is about all I can own!

Well, that's a bit of an exaggeration. I do own an air rifle but in the UK, we are restricted to 12lb spring pressure. If your air rifle is over the limit, you are technically in possession of an illegal firearm and could end up in prison

What a country! LOL

I'll probably end up in prison for owning a "virtual" machine gun

hi mattsta, played with the files but it is glitching out on trimmed surfaces, any chance getting them in step or stp?

This is always a problem when you translate big CAD models into 3rd party file formats

Which parts are causing you problems?

I can send you any problem parts as separate files and we'll see if we can resolve the issues that way

Which CAD package are you using to open the files?

Very Cool!! I have a small 3D printer I'll see what I can do with it :)

Looks like it opens up well in Creo.

I have a copy of Creo 2 but I'm waiting till I get a new computer before I install it. This one is on borrowed time

Mattsa,

Very nice job.

Any chance you will put a vertical fore grip on one of the models?

I've been trying to model it but I don't have a drawing for the vertical fore grip with any dimensions since it isn't included in the drawing set I have. I've been relying on photographic reference but it hasn't been very helpful because there's always some perspective and distortion

If you have any dimensions, that would be a big help

  • 11 months later...

this was in the machine, the plan was I get all the parts printed to see how they fit and if they need support or better density then print a real set black for the steel parts and brown for wood, as you can see its a work in progress between normal duties.
