TN.Frank
I picked up a couple M3 mags pouches to use with my '27A1 Thompson and the 30rnd mags disapear down into the pouch. Were the 30 rnd. M3 mags really that much longer then the Thompson mags? http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/blink.gif
Ron Mills
Yes, they are. I believe the mags are single row feeding (like the Sten), not staggered rows like the Thompsons. I always thought the Thompson 30-round mag pouches (those 3-bangers) were too short. Hard to snap shut.
Bisley45
the M3 mags are double colum single feed position just like the sten's their heavyer too. But you never heard any vet say they jambed like the sten mags, witness the 18-19 round conversions of the 32 rnd sten mags. They say the M3 tended to run away when dropped, course sten lovers have that problem too. I remember older friend of my dads telling me about putting a field dressing in his M14 pouches to hold his m16 mags up. you might try the same trick.
