M1-A1 russian lend lease demilled

Recommended Posts

in an earlier thread I pictured an AO 1928-A1 original lend lease to Russia during ww2. before it was acquired I purchased an M1-A1 from the same source. it took 6 steps to render it non operable however its a beauty. Savage made. with the both specimens I have, papers from the arsenal were included. as always, its a shame that history has to be destroyed as the 2 I have with the others by demilling but, I am thrilled to have the real deal as representatives of the period.

That sure is a nice way to do a terrible thing to a beautiful TSMG.

It is a lot better than the 3" chunk of the receiver tail that was sheared off

an early M1 I have as a paperweight!!

Mine is S/N 310694 .

Just curios what # is yours. Dave

Top photo you have posted has a crossbolt stock, the rest of the photos show a non crossbolt stock.

Sort of ironic that we have to re- purchase the weapon that our grandparents bought with their taxes and war bonds and our Gov't gave away to another country!

Good that its home again!
