  1. It's neat watching history unfold...great that there is so much research to help validate the guns history .
  2. A big thank you to all who are now enjoying my parts and pieces . You all were very nice to deal with and I enjoyed the emails. If anyone is interested in remaining items Contact me at dsfunk2@yahoo.com. Dave
  3. Darryl congrats !! Nice to get the two guns back together again. Glad PD worked with you on purchase. Our Bethlehem PA PD had 4 28 navys sold years ago and sadly split up.
  4. Nice project this will be interesting to watch it progress. By chance are you the same person who posts some neat 22 cal builds on rim fire central?
  5. I think for over 400,000 dollars the auto should include a gun built from one of Recon Bob's or D. Richardsons superb recievers and all original Colt parts!!
  6. I just refinished a walnut stock with Tom's 1/3 mix military Guns stock wax natural mix (avail at his site online, with explanations and pics about 10 DOLLARS) After removing old finish and lite sanding and some min wax red oak stain, just rub on let dry and buff ,repeat as needed 2-3 coats...The stock came out with a nice GI Look...only negative I found was it smells bad leave in garage or shed to dry not the house...unless you're a bachelor or want to be!
  7. Nice display. What years were these produced?
  8. Dave , Sorry to hear of your loss of your friend. Even sadder that he was surrounded by people who loved him and would have done anything to prevent this tragedy. Darkness causes people to isolate themselves from those who care the most about them. Long ago I was in the same place. Prayer and counseling restored me. If you are contemplating suicide please reach out and talk to someone even a stranger. Your life is of great worth and value please do not throw away such a precious gift. GOD LOVES YOU.......HE REALLY DOES !
  9. Thanks Dave Jack, Ejector is USGI 2 piece style, not 1 piece smooth style.

  12. I love the 28 and my wife loves your kitchen!!! Thanks for posting.
  13. Bob, Frame has S savage mark. No double angle on back of frame its the lighting and the white I put in the letters. Thanks for the answers.
  14. I noticed these stamps when cleaning cosmoline off this M1 lower . Lower was not from the ''Russian" parts sets of a few years back. It's an early Savage sn 32,165. One mark is U... other is E Also an asterisk mark on beveled end. All 3 are very deeply struck (machine struck?)and not a hand struck mark like GEG stamp. Are they manufacturers marks or foreign nations stamp? Did someone other than savage make this part? Couldn't find any info in American Thunder or in T. Hill's book. On buttstock is GSAA or CSAA or USAA in box. Couldn't make out first letter clearly that's why 3 guesses ! What is this one and what does it signify? Also has MR( Mt. Ranier) stamp on stock Thanks for deepening my TSMG knowledge. Dave
  15. It might be possible to have a machinist stabilize the upper sections by attaching them to the lower with some very small headless allen bolts which would be barely noticeable. It would make handling and pulling the bolt back very easy if the upper and lower were joined. Just an idea!! Great piece all the same.
  16. Sort of ironic that we have to re- purchase the weapon that our grandparents bought with their taxes and war bonds and our Gov't gave away to another country! Good that its home again!
  17. That sure is a nice way to do a terrible thing to a beautiful TSMG. It is a lot better than the 3" chunk of the receiver tail that was sheared off an early M1 I have as a paperweight!! Mine is S/N 310694 . Just curios what # is yours. Dave
  18. Kilroy, Source I had was tactical innovations. they only list 8'' brl.Looks like you need to cut yours. On Rimfire Central is a sponsor who can cut brls. His business is que brl and bolt. He'll cut to whatever length you wish and rethread too. About $60 to cut and thread. For $35 he will rework bolt to make it run more reliably and smoother. I did find that tsmg/rising style brl on TI website and on sale, I'll be ordering one today, they weren't avail for a long time , thats why I was interested in yours. Dave
  19. Kilroy, I frequent this site and Rimfire Central. They are a literal wealth of .22 info. Especially 10/22 rugers. Members of that board are as knowledgeable on .22 guns as the TSMG experts are on this board. I just had a brl cut to 11.5 but haven't had it to range yet. My research finds no accuracry issues at <75 yds. Please don't cut that brl! There is a source for that same brl style in 8-10'' lengths factory theaded. If you can get anther brl... I would like to buy yours. Contact me offline to chat further. Dave dsfunk2 @ yahoo.com
  20. Dan Block, He is deer slayer on this board. He made a beautiful one for me. You wont be disappointed.
  21. Thanks for posting pics of your super nice GI TSMG's...I too am wiping the drool off the monitor.....Dave
