  1. That one does seem expensive. I am still kicking myself over missing out on the one you linked to in post #17. According to my measurements, 34" would be the minimum for an M1A1 with stock attached.
  2. Well I didn't end up getting that case on eBay. I did not pay close enough attention to the closing time and missed that someone had outbid me. Too bad since it went cheap. Yes I have posted a few times on RFC, under the same screen name, mainly CZs, 10/22s and lately ARX 160-22.
  3. Thanks Uncle Dudley, that case would be the perfect size for me. I would love to do something similar to your case in post #3 for my '28 and Sten:
  4. There are 2 on Gun Broker: http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=545928825 http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=546099012
  5. Congratulations, It looks like a real beauty. Please enjoy it on behalf of those of us who cannot own such nice toys
  6. Warren and/or Deerslayer; I wonder if either of you would be interested in building some modern, generic storage/transport/display boxes with customizable interiors. When I say modern, I mean not designed to resemble a specific historic box, and using readily available inexpensive hardware, maybe biscuit joint corners instead of dove tail joints, etc, in order to keep the cost down. Something like what I describe in this thraed: http://www.machinegunboards.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=18983 I was considering building some for myself, but would have no interest in building them to sell. Also, knowing me, it will be years before I get around to actually completing a project like this Cheers TEG
  7. OCM: Thanks swat12: Thanks for posting your picture - as to why mine are not showing up for you, I'm not sure... are you using a phone to access the site by any chance? I believe that some devices have issues with photos. My photos are hosted on PhotoBucket, have you had issues with PhotoBucket before? Cheers TEG
  8. It looks to be well worth the wait, she is a beauty, congrats!
  9. All 3 of my Thompsons are Savages. So it sounds like from what you and Bob are saying, the M1 may be the original Dulite finish. That makes sense to me since it is numbers matching and it shows only minor wear, also I can't find any obvious nicks or damage that appear to have been refinished. On the other hand, as DZelenka mentions, there are stamps on the M1 that would have been applied after it was finished, but there is no finish loss visible...I'm told this is a Birmingham proof mark from 2007: http://i1279.photobucket.com/albums/y539/MarxF350/Firearms/M1%20TSMG/IMG_6827_zpshifzrana.jpg
  10. Thanks Bob and Buzz; So if the M1 is parkerized, would this mean it has been refinished? Here is a closer look at the M1A1 finish, (M1 on left, M1A1 on right): http://i1279.photobucket.com/albums/y539/MarxF350/Firearms/M1%20TSMG/IMG_6847_zpswgafo5xk.jpg
  11. Would anyone care to provide an educated guess on the finish of these guns? A) M1 - my uneducated guess is Dulite: http://i1279.photobucket.com/albums/y539/MarxF350/Firearms/M1%20TSMG/IMG_6820_zpsu4tkzmi6.jpg B ) M1A1 - my uneducated guess is well worn parkerizing: http://i1279.photobucket.com/albums/y539/MarxF350/Firearms/M1%20TSMG/IMG_6869_zps7rixdkno.jpg C) 1928A1 - I am thinking Dulite receiver and polished blue barrel and Comp? http://i1279.photobucket.com/albums/y539/MarxF350/Firearms/1928A1/IMG_6885_zps3yrwvbhw.jpg http://i1279.photobucket.com/albums/y539/MarxF350/Firearms/1928A1/IMG_6879_zpsri3twfg2.jpg
  12. Thank you Uncle D, I did some research on the meaning of the various marks and numbers, but somehow missed the relevance of the "j". I had figured out that fxo = Haenel ... and cnd = Krupp (subcontractor) ... and Eagle/WaA 262 = cnd I also looking into the mag that came with the MP40: kur 42 & Eagle/WaA 815 = Steyr, type B ribbed The one mag I kept from my MP38: 98E 41 & Eagle/WaA 815 = Steyr, type A, after ribbed http://www.mp40.nl/index.php?page=magazines
  13. Thanks Robert. This was a full auto, vet bring back, owned by Joe Salter (a Canadian who has a dealer licence to own prohibited firearms) as part of his personal collection. I purchased it and had it deactivated by Collectors Source. They did a decent job on the deactivation, but i am not very happy with all the vise jaw marks on the gun that were not there prior to deactivation
