huggytree
in the process of buying a Reising. Buying from a large reputable dealer and paying the premium to make sure im covered on quality/function. no grand bargain this time, but a fair price. what spare parts are recommended? i see keystone has almost everything spring kit, mags, sear, extractor, firing pin (titanium) ? anything else? any source for new barrels? Frank Iannamico
Firing pins Folke Myrvang had new original barrels a few months ago. Be sure to see the FAQ & Guide To Reising Submachine Gun Accessories on this site. There is a tutorial on how to prevent firing pin breakage. http://www.machinegu...?showtopic=8854
huggytree
i forgot folke had them...wrote him....ive bought $5k worth of stuff from him over the years....i see his last posting was 2017...so its doubtful
StrangeRanger
When I first got my M50 it was extreme;y finicky about ammo and basically would not run reliably even on the stuff it liked. I put in a Wolfe spring kit and it now eats anything. Plus the detail strip required to install the kit will familiarize you with the inner workings. The only spare I've ever needed is the leaf spring under the selector switch, mine snapped at the crease in the middle. I bought a spare firing pin just because of the Reising's reputation for breaking them.
huggytree
got Folkes last (3) NOS barrels....what a deal....lucked out...he has sold me so many hard to find items for great prices over the years....grabbed (2) MP40 barrels from him last year..one was NOS....all his stuff is minty too...going to look into mags today....see if keystone will give a black friday deal if i buy a bunch
taeelec
The firing pin is definitely the weak point. Because of the 'tapered' design of the original firing pin you should never dry fire your Reising. If you are using an original firing pin I recommend that you use snap cap/ dummy rounds when you dry fire. I learned that the hard way. skoda
Check Gun Parts Corp. They sell some parts for the Reising.
huggytree
my experience with Numrich has been rusty junk....not once, not twice...every single time....always the lowest quality on the market.....i could roll the dice a 10th time and see what they have....i will look!!!..... StrangeRanger
A spare bolt might not be a bad idea. I've never had a problem but I have heard that the Creek last year one broke in two at the hole for the cross pin that retains the firing pin. skoda
I bought some Reising spares from Numrich/GPC this year and they were all in good shape. Don't forget that they bought a bunch of parts from H&R and even assembled some Model 50's in the 1980's. That's what I have and the parts are all nice. They do sell some repo parts. GUNGUY45
I've had an Action Bar break on me. I got a replacement from "The Dealer Warehouse".It doesn't look like they list Reising parts anymore, may be sold out.You could try calling them. huggytree
are these parts factory and correct for my reising m50 police? https://www.ebay.com/itm/Reising-Model-50-55-or-60-Trigger-and-Connector-USGI-WWII-Era-36/312333023642?hash=item48b87fb99a:g:ZqwAAOSwRbJb9v~r:rk:2:pf:0 https://www.gunbroker.com/item/791942170 bolt must have been real as its gone already
koz5614
My spare parts consisted of a Wolff spring kit, spare firing pin and spare bolt. I only have a Reising Model 60, and still managed to fracture my bolt after a couple hundred rounds of semi-auto only fire.
huggytree
grabbed a ton of parts from Numrich....normally i have 0 good to say about them...typical is all rust and tossed into 1 baggie...i was pleasantly surprised 75% were rust free(many appear to be NOS) and each had its own baggie....i spent some time with oil and steel wool and cleaned off 90% of the rust....oiled up heavily and put away....very pleased with their product a few parts to come from keystone and 1 from GB....all very reasonable....ill have a full parts kit for approx $700 range when done...most NOS parts.....then i have the 3 barrels ontop of that coming from Folke in Feb.
