huggytree
Grabbed a Lanchester Mk1* today and the barrel looks a bit blah. Hopefully its just spiderwebs in there. If I need to replace it I see IMA has them for $150 each. Has anyone replaced a barrel? is it something a person can do or a gunsmith job? any recommended smiths for this? (I thought of John Andrewski since it looks a lot like a Sterling mk4 barrel setup)
BillyDixon
no big deal, remove retaining screw, and stick a 2 finger spanner wrench in holes at muzzle and unscrew, just sayn
huggytree
are new ones timed correctly? any barrel will fit any gun? id assume they need to be timed?
BillyDixon
just screw the bbl in until bottoms out then back off until the lock screw goes in, the bolt hos plenty of over travel to work fine, should be ok with original bbl, but aftermarket u.s. made bbl threads might not fit well with british witworth style threads, and a aftremarket barrel of unknown make, all bets off., just sayn
