ATF Registry Correction Letters

All righty, after almost two years I now have correction letters for four of my SMG's from the ATF. For those of you who, like me, buy guns and it turns out that some of the information on the Form 4 is incorrect, and want it to be correct, I found the process a bit painful, but ultimately doable.

For instance, my Swedish K was a Port Said kit built on a Wilson Tube by John Andrewski. The Form 4 said the Model was an L2A3 which is probably how the unfinished tube was registered. Well, a L2A3 is a Sterling... not a "K".

So I sent a letter to the ATF, along with tons of pics demonstrating that indeed it was a "K", copies of the Form 4, Trust etc. and after a bit they approved. With the approval email, they sent the original correction letter detailing the request, with an ATF stamp "Approved" and indicating that the Registry was changed.

So, when I sell or transfer it, the NEW Form 4 will show it as a Swedish K.

Same type of thing for my M3, Lanchester (C&R) and Thompson 1928A1.

I found the ATF crew to be friendly & helpful. It's clear however that they are swamped.
