What's The Going Price ?

Recommended Posts

For a nice M3A1? I can't believe that a Guide Lamp M3A1 costs nearly as much as a Colt Thompson. http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/sad.gif

I read the add too and if it is a Guide Lamp that is not C&R, it is either a reweld or was reimported prior to the 1968 GCA.

The Guide Lamp M3A1's are the rarest of the breed, (with the exception of some proto types) and will demand the most money. 20K is quite the jump from the 12k-13k they were asking for 6 months ago

Look VERY closely at the markings and it's apparent that it's a hand stamped M3A1 marking, not one done by the fine folks at the Guide Lamp plant in Indiana. Notice the dead giveaway RIA (Rock Island Arsenal) mfg stamp. It's a reweld with some M3A1 parts ala non-C&R done by RIA who did lots of MGs before the cutoff in 1986.

Prolly a good shooter but not worth even what an original plain jane M3 is worth. Buyer would have to be on crack to pay that price for a cobbled together shooter when real deal guns are cheaper.
