None of the 1928A1 Models had the cross bolt stock when they left the factory in 1942. The cross bolt was a replacement/upgrade later in the war. Most rebuilt guns got the cross bolt. I only ask because I have one of those circa 1942-'43 1928A1s, U.S. ground off, which was probably pulled from the production line for sale to a police department. It got no military markings, and appears to never have been in military hands, so it never went to an arsenal for rebuild. But it has what I believe to be the original stock from the previous police department owner, and that is a crossbolt stock. My 28 PD gun with US ground off also has the crossbolt and still has the PD ID tag on the stock. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
