The1930sRust
Gentlemen! Hello! I have recently returned from a whirlwind tour of the Carribean, and my sunburn and hangover are rapidly fading. Unfortunately, the buldge around my bullets isn't;-) Took a quick dusk trip to the range to smoke recently acquired Jamaican tracers. http://www.darklightimagery.net/thompson/thompson tracers.jpg Just kidding. Bought them at some gun auction site; the name escapes me. They were advertised as white (came out somewhat green in the video) and did in fact ignite right out of the barrel. The bystanders nearby were suitably impressed! Here is a linky to the 4 meg plus Quicktime video. Remember, you'll have to have the Quicktime player to view it, available at www.quicktime.com. http://www.darklightimagery.net/thompson/T...sonTracers2.mov It appears rather dark on my screen, but I did up the gain. For some reason, I cannot get the enhanced version to transmit.

The1930sRust
I won the tracers, as it was, on Gunbroker.com. Requires a user ID similar to eBay. They have lots of them there. You can likely order them direct from the manufacturer, Ammunitiontogo. Be advised, I paid over a dollar a round for twenty of those puppies! Outrageous! They were oonique, however, in that they light from the muzzle as opposed to many tracers I saw that would light about a hundred yards down range. That's already into the hill at my range. To quote their email to me, "We are coming soon to: www.ammunitiontogo.com Thank you very much for bidding on our product and giving us the opportunity to serve your ammunition needs. We will do our very best to make this a pleasant transaction for you and will hopefully earn your business in the future. Please read this entire e-mail, because there is valuable information and instructions to follow, in order to make this transaction go smoothly. Shipping for your product(s) is 8.00, which brings your total to 30.00. If you would like additional amounts of what you bid on, we will sell it to you for the bid amount with no additional shipping. If you decide to purchase more of what you bid on please send a separate check or money order for that amount. Please state clearly on the paper work you are sending us how much more of the product you are paying for. If you live in Hawaii or Alaska please e-mail us and let us know because we can not ship ammo to you. We will list the things you need to do below: 1. We accept money orders, personal checks, business checks and credit cards. We no longer accept paypal due to them not taking any payment for gun related items starting May 21. 2003. Due to their anti-gun views we have chose to close our paypal account and I would hope that you would choose to do the same. Please call Paypal at 1-888-221-1161 and express your dissatisfaction with their choice. 2. Please make your payment payable to: Ammo To Go 3. Please mail the payment to: Ammo To Go 6032 FM 50 Brenham TX. 77833 4. Please enclose a signed letter stating that you are over 18 if you bid on rifle ammo and 21 if you bid on pistol ammo. We do not need a statement if you did not bid on live ammo or if you have already sent us one for a previous order. 5. Please provide us with your physical address on you age statement. We ship all our product through UPS ground, so we must have a physical address. 6. Please provide us with the auction numbers that you bid on and your phone number on your age statement. We ask for this in case we run into a problem locating your auction in our files, we can look it up on the auction site or give you a call. 7. Please print out this e-mail and send it with your payment. We need this e-mail to help us find your order in our files. We file our orders by your e-mail address and the date in which we sent this to you. If you can't print this off, it is no problem, just write your e-mail address and the date we sent this to you on your age statement. We are generally out of town Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and part of Monday doing gun shows. If you e-mail us on these days, we will probably not e-mail you back until Monday afternoon. We just wanted you to know so you wouldn't think we were neglecting you on purpose. It typically takes 12 to 14 working days for you to receive your product from the time you send your payment. It takes the postal system 4 days to get us the payment, 4 days for us to process the payment, and 4 days for UPS to get the product to you. If you need it sooner please feel free to let us know and we will do everything in our power to get it to you sooner. We hate to add the last part of this letter, but we want to be up front with everyone and let everyone know what Gunbroker's rules state. We pay a percentage of every sale we make to Gunbroker, whether the bidder pays us are not, so if we don't get paid for the product someone bids on we loose money. There is only one way for us to get our money back from Gunbroker and that is to file a non-bidder alert. We will do this If we haven't received payment 45 days from the date of this letter, we will have no choice but to file for a relist credit through Gunbroker. After someone gets 2 non-pay credits against them Gunbroker will suspend their account. We choose to not give negative feedback on anyone. We only go through the motions Gunbroker makes us go through to get our money back and we let them handle the disciplinary actions they choose to impose. We are sorry that this is so long, but we have been doing this a long time and have found that it helps to be very explicit and it makes the transactions go a lot smoother for both parties involved. If you have any questions please feel free to give us a call at 979-277-9676. Thanks again for your business, Tracey Hueske" end quote.
deerslayer
Nice video, I also have bought ammo from those folks. Bought some incindiary 45 stuff. Shot it at an old disk blade and got a nice puff of smoke stuff. Be fun to shoot it close to dark some time and see if there's some sparks. I just ordered their bird bomb tracer. Supposed to trace right out the barrel, then be incidiary if you hit something close, or simply blow up at 200 yards if fired into the air (bird bomb). skoda
I have a video tape of those army training film collections about the Thompson. It's as boring as can be but some where in the middle is a drum of 50 tracers being fired into the night sky. It's black and white but very impressive as this film is.
