DLansky
On behalf of an elderly collector, offered for sale is a military Colt Thompson. The upper receiver is marked US Navy--Model of 1928A1. it is serial number 3873. all parts on the upper receiver are Colt, including the barrel, a type 2 compensator and the wood. the wood is Colt military wood and is heftier than the Colt Navy horizontal foregrips and the Savage horizontal military foregrips. Gordon's book shows the upper going to San Quentin prison and later the Champlin Fighter Museum and possibly a 1928A1 prototype. Gordon's book shows 3874, 3875 and 3876 all going to the Marines. The lower is numbered 7601. According to Gordon's latest book, this is the lower for an unaccounted for Marine Contract Purchase Thompson. the upper receiver internals are all military--bolt, blish, spring and buffer/pilot. the internal parts in the lower appear to be Colt--I did not disassemble--with a number of them being in the white. The rocker though is most likely military. the buttstock is military. it is unnumbered, but the butt plate is a military buttplate and is numbered. the butt stock has a brass medallion marked Emergency 2 .45 Cal. the pistol grip is military. it is stamped "M". The gun has been test fired and runs nicely. it is in the condition you would expect for a military gun. Some representative pictures are posted. I can email others to interested buyers. the gun comes with a 20 round mag and an original marked No Buckle sling. The gun will transfer to your dealer tax free on a form 3 by e-file . the price is $25,000 and includes shipping. this is a great opportunity to buy a gun with history that you can shoot without depreciating for a very good price. please send me PM with any questions. thank you for looking.
