MG08
this is a matching upper and lower gun, still has the M1 bolt. I would guesstimate it has been refinished. Wood has some marks but nothing tearing the grain. There is some minimal pitting under the wood on the barrel.

LSU Tiger
Very nice, indeed. Yours was made right after the rear sight change.
MG08
So, opinions - is the finish original ? some have asked about it. I would have expected a blued barrel, and the parkerizing is over some light pitting on the barrel.
Bridgeport28A1
Does not appear to be an original finish based on the photographs.
MG08
Does not appear to be an original finish based on the photographs. Yup, that was my take. does anyone have a color pic of an original finish on one ?
johnsonlmg41
The one in the middle I believe to be original on a M1A1 (has a blued barrel) late 700K ser. . For comparison a refinished 28 and an original 21 colt. HTH

Adg105200
It's hard to say as far as finish based on photographs. I have a mint (my guess never or only very lightly used) M1 trigger frame that looks similar finish. The DuLite finish on the M1s was a flatter blacker finish than on the 28s. Either way, nice gun! Bridgeport28A1
Brian, while not a complete M1/M1A1, I do feel the finish is original on what remains.
MG08
Now that is what I would expect -
The1930sRust
Very nice weapon! In my very uneducated and aged opinion, it was definitely refinished. Mine had been. Probably would have originally had paddle style fire control levers and probably not a reinforced buttstock? Maybe even a bright bolt? R
G-Man1006
Original finish on a M1A1...
MG08
Thanks for all the comments- I assumed it was refinished but another board person thought it might be original - I assumed at least the barrel should be blued - and perhaps a bright bolt.... either way I am happy with it- got a chance to fire it and it runs like a sexually accosted primate.....
