Got Uzi
I got the nod to put the new barrel in the old girl last night so I got it swapped out then put back together. The mechanical restoration is done.....the cosmetic restoration will take some time.....but for now, for your viewing pleasure-

jim c 351
John,Looks really great. A potential threat to my Lewis Gun. Perhaps we could have a little contest at the next plate shoot. You do plan to still own it at that time?? Just kidding. I'm sure its the last MG you will ever part with. After all, you now have as many Potato Diggers as I have BARs. Very unique.Jim C

Got Uzi
JimC-Im sure the Colt will make an appearance at the next plate shoot. It would be interesting to see how it performs against the Lewis gun. Ill be doing point shooting as the rear sight isnt too good of shape but Im sure that can be overcome within a few rounds. StrangeRanger
I'll bet on Jim's Lewis for accuracy but it runs dry in 47 rounds. John's Colt wins for its ability to "put up a wall of lead that they couldn't crawl through"
sherman3
Lock that Digger down in a good mount and it will put the Lewis to shame.
Got Uzi
I found it likes a more modern/hotter load. The WWII surplus 303 I was feeding it tended to run a little slower but it still worked
1gewehr
Lock that Digger down in a good mount and it will put the Lewis to shame. My .30 Marlin Digger shoots like a laser when it's locked down on the tripod. But the Lewis is much easier to move around!!!
DougStump
My M60 will take on both of your antiques Does your M60 have a holographic sight? (And I did it without modifying any original parts!)
StrangeRanger
Sights on a machinegun? We don't need no stinking sights! But in answer to your question, no it still has the original sight setup; I haven't even upgraded it to the aperture rear
