  1. I'll second the Leona shoot. Went there for a few years. Good times.
  2. Hi there, I'm in E TX, have plenty of places to shoot our MGs, and several friends who own them also. Give me a shout....
  3. Sorry for the confusion, the Reising was no longer in use by my Dept. That's how I got to trade them out of it. I do not know for sure but it would be reasonable to guess Federal Labs got it either from H&R or the military? We (the Dept.) acquired it in 1942 if this helps. I believe I added the info in your poll.
  4. In reference to the above post: Greetings everyone, I own one of the Reisings in the 110000 range. I acquired this gun from my Sheriff's Office where I am employed a s a full-time Patrol Deputy. My Department bought this gun new from Fed Labs in 1942. I have all the documents including the original transfer paper to the SO. It has the P, the letter and the punch mark. It has seen very little use and still appears "new". I'm sure I've put more rounds through it than anyone ever did. I don't know if it was a holdover or ever destined to go to the Marine Corps but, I know where it has been all of it's life. Maybe this little bit of info will be useful. The old Reising sure looks good sitting next to the ex- Birmingham PD M1 Thompson SMG in the safe. However, they look even better when out in use. :^)
  5. Congrats from another fellow M1 - M1A1 owner! No better feeling like getting one of these babies. Well, almost? Maybe?

    Mac Vs Uzi

Garrett pretty much nailed it. The MAC suppressor can be made to stay on simply by using an o-ring between the can and the upper. Gemtech also makes a nice can with a ratcheting device that works and looks great also. I own both also and would suggest you go ahead and get the Uzi. I love them both and won't part with either.
  7. Dude, I like your pic and think it would look fine in a calendar. It's neat taking pics of guns. They don't talk back and always sit still...
  8. Congratulations First Sergeant! Not much compares to getting a Thompson.
  9. We can most likely do this for you. We are an 07/SOT with CNC engraving capability as well as a full line machine shop. Located in E Texas. Feel free to email me for further info.
  10. Those are some great stories guys! I know of a couple of old timers that were into guns as far back as the '50s. They had been buying all kinds of stuff for years before the amnesty in '68. One of these gentlemen registered at least 200 guns during that 30 day period. I'm sure I remember him telling us that ATF (or was it the ATT at the time?) even sent in an agent to help him with them. What guns he didn't register or "culled out" ended up being dumped into an interstate overpass column the day they poured the concrete. The other gentleman also, has one of the finest collections of MGs I've ever had the privilege of seeing. http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/cool.gif
  11. Congratulations Kyle! Because of you I got lucky and got one first. Glad you have your pair now. Lets go to the River after BT this Saturday, whatcha say?
  12. I'll be there along with two or three friends Friday and most of Saturday. Don't know if there will be any deals, but that is a reason to go - to look.
  13. Thank Kyle, That's what I was thinking but I always like to ask again. I am awake now and have answered your email..... http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/tongue.gif
  14. I have located one, don't know the price yet, and just wondering what to expect. Seems like I've seen or heard of them with a fairly wide price range, but alas I cannot remember. Help please? Thanks
  15. Found a nice S&W 76 that comes with a custom suppressor that takes the place of the barrel nut. Guy wants around $5k. Is this too high for a nice one with the suppressor and mag? I didn't notice any PD markings and the gun looks close to new. I shot a few mags through it and it runs fine. Thanks
