  1. I thought those guys who said that their PK'd Thompsons were too nice/beautiful to shoot were just plain silly, and I couldn't imagine acting that way when I got mine back. Well, I got it back last week and I understand! I'm going to shoot it, but it's a real act of will. I'm nerving myself up to do it. (If you've ever cliff jumped into water, you know the feeling). Amazing, flawless work from PK. I'm in Deerslayer's queue for new furniture, so this gets even better! Maybe I can find a beater somewhere.... http://i580.photobucket.com/albums/ss248/just4grins1/PostPKThompson.jpg

  2. Dealer received my stamp today. Picking it up Saturday. I'm stoked. Not a museum piece or any colt, but its an original M1 variant with matching upper and lower. Got a pretty good deal considering what WHs are going for. Only issue to resolve is how to fix the loose rear sight. Gratuitous before in my actual hands pic. http://i109.photobucket.com/albums/n73/david_4x4/image-1_zps4635b103.jpg

  3. I picked up two more M165's at a gunshow this past Weekend. One is complete and correct. The other is in a M65 stock, is missing the rear sight, Has a Winchester 32 Special rear sight dovetailed into the barrel. This sight is kinda rare as it was only put on the 1894 Winchester 32 Special from 1910 to 1920 or so. It is missing the mag release lever also. Here's some pics of both rifles. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/0603/n64atlas/New%20rifles/036_zpsa1ccd290.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/0603/n64atlas/New%20rifles/039_zps4257eb57.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/0603/n64atlas/New%20rifles/041_zps6e13fea3.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/0603/n64atlas/New%20rifles/043_zps9c7b6a1e.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/0603/n64atlas/New%20rifles/044_zpsb1a4e187.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/0603/n64atlas/New%20rifles/046_zpsa5ffc1bb.jpg

  5. I don't see any reason why a Colt horizontal fore grip has to be fitted or equipped with sling swivels. I think such a grip without sling swivels would be very rare but certainly possible. The below information from the AOC 1928 Dealers Net Price List indicates there were two variations of the Model of 1927 Thompson offered for sale with horizontal fore grips that do not appear to have sling swivels (or sling). The number sold is another question but what ever the total, it would be very small. It is certainly an interesting piece! Comments?
