  1. It appears that Mr.Weinstein is planning to vote against us by the tone of his letter..That's the problem with these people they usually say that they are just looking out for "our public safety" I.E. "I also believe the degree of that entitlement, and the extent to which it is applied must be balanced with the state’s responsibility to protect public health and safety." Wrong..It doesn't work that way...My Father has always said something along the lines of what Mr.Weinstein said when the subject of firearms comes up as he believes that the government has the right to "look out for our public safety" and although he believes that he still supports firearms ownership..
  2. Norm, That's pretty rough to have to move into another state to retain your job (and to think that I have had problems justifying moving to Idaho to have Class 3 toys) especially you might have to loose your "toys" doing so.. Hopefully, everything will work out for you!
  3. PK, I have heard far too many storys about breaking extractors in the Kahr(ap) "Tompsons" for my liking...I know that Kahr was (or still is) using G.I. extractors and unless they have somehow run accross batches of bad G.I. extractors, there must be another reason for them to break. I am just thowing these out there to see what you think. 1. Badly machined (out of spec?) extractor channel too deep, too shallow or nominal depth? 2. Roughly machined or undersized chamber? 3. Head space issues? 4. Use of steel cartridge cases? 5. Improperly cleaning the chamber? 6. Improperly heat treated Kahr manufactured extractors? 7. Extractors "made in India" or China! 8. In the incredibly rare category: Bad G.I. extractors? Any ideas?

  5. The firearms community has lost a very important friend and fighter. Keal Knox was great man and I always enjoyed his writings and his support for the second amendment...
  6. Cool picture junglewalk! It must be fun to re-inact battles so many people seem to be getting into re-inactment these days.. Alot of people who visit my site ask about the Marushin MP40 replicas as it's the nearly the only way for them to have a "firing" MP40 to re-inact with. Although, I know that the Germans didn't issue as many MP40's as I am sure that you see at most re-inactments.. Didn't they just issue them to sargents etc. initally?
  7. Hey, you can't have too many MP40 magazines! After all, they are a pain to load even with the magazine loader..Besides, it's nicer to have another loaded magazine at the ready! (and it gives your friends someting to do while waiting their turn to shoot)
  8. Yes, if they are in good condition, they are a good deal in my opinion..How many are you buying? I haven't been looking for them for a long time so, $45 might be high or low don't quite know.

Muslim male extremists mostly between the ages of 17 and 40 Nope, I really don't see a pattern here to justify profiling, do you? So, to ensure we Americans never offend anyone, particularly fanatics intent on killing us, airport security screeners will no longer be allowed to profile certain people. They must conduct random searches of 80-year-old women, little kids, airline pilots with proper identification, secret agents who are members of the President's security detail, 85-year old Congressmen with metal hips, and Medal of Honor winning and former Governor Joe Foss, but leave Muslim Males between the ages 17 and 40 alone because of profiling. Let's send this to as many people as we can so that the Gloria Aldreds and other dunder-headed attorneys along with Federal Justices that want to thwart common sense, feel doubly ashamed of themselves - if they have any such sense. As the writer of the award winning story "Forrest Gump" so aptly put it, "Stupid is as stupid does." Come on people wake up!!!
  10. What??? no one likes Universally Poor Service? After having several very expensive items left (in plain sight no less) on my porch and odd delivery times...I can't stand them now..I only deal with USPS as they have always been good to me.
  11. Hi Sgt. Fox, Is this pin the "rollpin" style? or is it the solid style? Well, you can destroy the pin pretty easily any way that you try so, it's always a good idea to have a spare pin around. I have removed this pin before (both the solid and the roll pin style) using wire cutters, (by prying it out not cutting it) Using vise grips (grab twist and pull) these are and can be destructive.. And, finally, a pin punch and a piece of wood with a hole drilled into it a little larger than the pin dia. The wood, of course, provides the backing and support that the recoil spring guide rod needs for this procedure. It sounds like the recoil spring has either broken, kinked or has lost tension.
  12. Damn it, I live in the wrong state!! ARRRRRG! Well, looks like I have to move....GP, I would buy the MP44 in a minute if I just resided in a full auto state! Oh well, someting to "shoot" for in the near future.. Happy turkey day!
  13. Donation made! http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif
  14. Yes, and Brickyard, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! Glad to see that you guys went shooting too!!
  15. YA, HAPPY BIRTHDAY BRUCE!! (Well, yesterday anyways!)
  16. I hope that you went shootin' that old M1 today! It certainly needs a good workout from time to time I am sure!! And, I hope that you had a good one!
  17. Hi Bob, So, Washington State is up to it's usual tricks huh? It appears to me that you are saying is, You cannot transfer a legally owned, pre-1994 registered sbr/sbs post 1994. If so, what would the possessors do with their sbr/sbs when they sell them/ it? Do they have to transfer it out of state? Or to an active class 3 dealer? Or surrender it? Hey, thanks for the invite in Albany! Unfortunately, I don't have any vacation time left! So, it's highly unlikely that I can make it. Doh! But, your offer is very much appreciated!
  18. Thanks for the replies guys! Lionhart, hopefully you are mistaken! I would love to accuire a SBR! DD's AOW's and suppressors just don't quite do it for me I am afraid..It looks like Idaho for me as I am tired of being restricted to certain types of firearms!! http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/mad.gif Especially since last Saturday I went to a class 3 dealer sponsored, open to the public, full auto demo in Idaho! And for a $5.00 range fee and the price of their ammo (no personal ammo alowed) you could shoot anything on the table! HK MP5A2, HK PDW, Mini Uzi, Colt M4, HK 53A3, FN P90 and a FN 2000! (the only one in the country!) It was a great shoot and well attended it just made me realize just how bad Washington state is when it comes to fun toys! Oh, I feel so safe knowing that Olympia is saving us from the temptation of full auto ownership!
  19. Does any one know if there are any pre-1994 (crime bill) "grandfathered" SBR's in the Peoples Republic of Washington State? or is there such a thing? If so,is there a chance that any are for sale? As I would sure like to get a HK PDW SBR (if possible). If not, where they all rounded up and melted? As I haven't seen any in all of the gun shows that I have been to since the mid 80's.
  20. I thought that this was pretty cool..In November,Ernest finally got a chance to see front line action with Lanham's regiment in the Hurtgen forest. He had already been in trouble over carrying sidearms (Strictly taboo for a war correspondent). However, he probably saved Lanham's life on November 22nd during a German infantry attack on his headquarters. Lanham's headquarters commandant, Captin. Mitchell, was killed instantly by the hail of bullet fire. Showing his characteristic lack of personal fear, Hemingway charged into the melee, killing several Germans with bursts from a Thompson sub-machine gun and breaking up the attack. So, was this his personal Thompson that he would later use to shoot sharks?
  21. bobdobbs, I have one of these replicas, you can see it on my website http://www.mp40modelguns.com/ I collect these "modelguns" and I could probably give you a good appraisal of what your MGC is worth.
  22. Guys, I believe that the press has been under-reporting any criminal use of any so called "assault rifles" for some time now. Possibly at least, since the begining of the "assault weapons"ban. Why? of course, it appears to the average non-firearms owning person that the use of these weapons has dropped significantly..Of course if the ban is not somehow magically renewed, the press will report any negative story that they can find relating to any mis-use of any of these so-called "assault rifles" Making it appear that the ban was effective! Remember, the press works hand in hand with these people..
  23. Dan, did you get my E-mail that I sent you yesterday? I am still interested in the butt plate... Motorcar, that's cool that you received two v-nice stocks from them. I hope that the one that I ordered will be nice too!
  24. Good to hear from you Jim! I hope all is well in your neigborhood too...
  25. Brickyard, once again PK's awesome tallent shows! The barrel looks fantastic although, the bluing looks somewhat out of place too bright! Kind of like a presentation piece! I just wish that I could own a mp40 in this state!!!But at this point it's just not practical to move. Also, the mp40 is far more accurate than most people give it credit for isn't it?
