  1. You're right, she does not know how to hold a firearm. She needs to hold it a little lower imho. Mark
  2. Hey DC Chris, I had the same problem with my spring kit. It also will fire in two to three round bursts..... Needless to say, I've also dumped the springs and gone back to stock. I don't need that trouble...... Mark
  3. WWII troopers jumped with T-5 and later T-7 Parachutes. Still 28 ft. flat round canopies, just different harnesses, and some canopies were silk instead of nylon. Many of the troopers that I have talked to carried doubled their weight with chutes and equipment. Ralph Manley (one of our legacy members, and 501st PIR trooper) weighed 185 lbs in June of '44. He stepped on a scale prior to his Normandy Jump, and he weighed 418 lbs. Remarkable men from a remarkable generation. All the Way!! Mark WWII Airborne Demonstration Team Foundation www.wwiiadt.org
  4. Atticus, I'm in Missouri, I have my C&R registered in the name of my corporation. No problems here. Transfers are quick too. Mark
  5. PK, Thanks for the advice. This means I have to go back to the range again, darn! There goes another 200 rounds..................... Mark
  6. Yeah, I know..... what is this world coming to.......
  7. Hello all, I would like to poll your collective expertise and see if you guys can help me out on this one. I have a Kahr SA thompson. I've made the following mods to the weapon; Short barrel, parkerized, and installed modified mag catch to accomodate FA mags. I also purchased one of Dave Jankowski's spring kits for it. Here is my problem; when I have the lighter spring set and buffer in, the weapon double and triple fires sometimes when I pull the trigger. It does not happen every time I pull the trigger. If I put the heavier springs in the weapon functions fine. What is happening (or not happening) to cause this type of malfunction. I've tried to think it through, and can not come up with a plausible explanation as to why it's happening. Since everyone else that has purchased Dave's kit has given it glowing reviews, I don't want to place blame on the kit. Thanking you for your help in advance, Mark
  8. Walter, I've actually had the privelige of traveling with Jake McNiece, and Jack Agnew this past December to Bastogne. They are the only two remaining pathfinders out of the 20 who actually jumped there. The WWII Airborne Demonstration Team (WWW.WWIIADT.COM) actually sponsored their trip over there so that they could be a part of the 60th aniversary celebration. What an honor to be able to meet and converse with these men, and hear firsthand their stories. We (the WWIIADT) performed a commemerative jump in Bastogne(also jumped Normandy, and Holland although I was not able to attend) in honor of the pathfinders who jumped there 60 years prior. We jumped pretty low (first stick~800 feet, and second stick~650 feet). Jakes first comment was "I jumped lower than you guys did" :-) If anyone would like to know more about the organization please ask away. Mark
  9. Those are Engineers from Regimental Headquarters company 506th PIR 101st AB. That photo is featured on the cover of "The Filthy Thirteen" by Jake McNiece. This is the true story of the "Dirty Dozen". Pick up a copy if you get a chance. There are also a whole series of those photos in "American Warriors" by Michel de Trez. Mark
  10. Hawkeye Joe, go to http://groups.yahoo.com/group/WWIIBARMAN/ You'll need to register to access the group, but look under photos and then accessories, and you'll see a sling diagram. If that doesn't work, let me know and I'll see if I can't post it here. Mark
  11. I spent a week in Belgium, and parachuted out of a WWII C-47 into Bastogne!!!! Mark
  12. Brian, The receivers are either aluminum, or steel. No moving parts really. Try Sarco for a parts kit. I bought one a couple of months ago, but it was pretty beat. I may be willing to sell my dummy, but I was thinking about making a semi. I'll let you know. Mark
  13. Brian, You can get an oow semi BAR which run about 2800 when they are available, or you can build a dummy from a parts kit. Parts kits are ~600 or so, and dummy receivers are ~300-~400 if you want to build a dummy. Hope that helps. Mark
