  1. Thank you for posting!!! I love reading posts like this.....sorry I can't offer any guidance or help.
  2. No difference in my experience. F4 xfer times have been running 90 to 120 days for me lately. Fastest ever for me was 6 weeks for a can in 2010. In general I thinks the good old days are here again for wait times. I have no proof of this, but I believe that machinegun transfers must be approved by some of the "seasoned" examiners and not the new hires. I am seeing many new names on forms received in the past 6 months. Silencers seem to have the most "new" names at the bottom of the forms and the MGs still have the ones I remember from years ago. I believe that the background of the MGs must be researched before the final approval is given.
  3. Buddy, there must be some issue with your transfer. I would call the NFA Branch at 304-616-4500 with the S/N and make an inquiry.....ASAP! I have approvals from mid-November 2014 in hand now.
  4. I would say a tax paid form 4 from an individual to a dealer is still 4-5 months......then the tax paid to the buyer which is anyones guess these days.
  5. In reference to Oklahoma. The VETO by the Governor was over-ridden by both the House and Senate. It will be Oklahoma State law on 11/1/2014 all CLEOs must sign.
  6. Sad.....really sad. But it was good while it lasted......not really good but better than mailing them in at least. Hopefully it will be up sooner rather than later.
  7. Dealers are able to view their inventory (or as to what the ATF believes to be as such in the NFRTR) via the eForm system. When filing a form 4 to transfer to a buyer, they may only select whatever is shown in the inventory and no changes can be made. Dealers are able to view forms in progress, drafts and approved forms filed via the eForm system. There is an option for non-eFiled forms but I haven't been able to view those due to system limitations. Individuals are unable to view their inventory I believe, only dealers.
  8. Thank you for the detailed info. I have drafted a letter to clarify it with them and to correct the missing barrel length and overall length. I'll let you know when they respond. That'll likely take a while!!
  9. I have a WH THOMPSON marked M1 being listed on the approved form 4 from 12/2013. The approved form 4 shows AUTO ORDNANCE/WEST HURLEY NY MODEL/M1 So, I pull up inventory in ATFs eForms and it's shown as QUALITY FABRICATIONS INC MODEL/ M1A1. S/N is M68XA. of course the "X" is a numerical character not disclosed. Can any seasoned pro here shed any light on these discrepancies? I wonder if Quality Fabrications registered them somehow??? I'm a bit confused. Thank you all for your time!
  10. http://www.thetruthaboutguns.com/2014/03/foghorn/disgruntled-ffls-claim-austins-silencer-shop-single-handedly-crashing-atfs-e-forms-system/ the above listed link may offer some in-sight.
  11. I have a WH THOMPSON which is shown on the approved form (12/13) filed via paper on a form 4 as a M1). The approved form 4 shows AUTO ORDNANCE/WEST HURLEY NY MODEL/M1 So, I pull up eForms and it's shown as QUALITY FABRICATIONS INC MODEL/ M1A1. S/N is M68XA. of course the "X" is a numerical character not disclosed. Can any seasoned pro here shed any light on these discrepancies? I wonder if Quality Fabrications registered them somehow??? 12. I would like to know the real problem. The re-boot of the system works for around 30 minutes. That's because everyone flocks to get on between re-boots. They need to fix it.....not re-boot it.
  13. I really like this topic. There are still a few dealers around that will screw you over but they are getting fewer and fewer. Big money, lawyers and contracts help that a bit now but still some will still lose out. I am curious what some of you guys paid for things back then. I bought an S&H MP5 last month and the seller paid $2500 in 1994 and the thought he was ripped off......needless to say he changed his mind last month. I bought my first MG in 2005 for $5400 (Ruger AC556) and a MAC 11/9 in 2006 for $2200.
  14. I have been a dealer for 9+ years and this is the first time I have ever heard of a "recall notice". I'm not saying it doesn't exist, but I imagine I would have heard of it by now. Maybe someone with more time in the biz can chime in if they have heard of some official recall notice. If I had to guess, there's a form for that. I would ask your dealer to put an immediate STOP PAYMENT on the check. I bet that would at least stop the pending transfer and allow you to send off a new/correct one. I seriously doubt ATF will do any work on the form if the check doesn't clear in the first place. Here is the process: 1)mail the form; 2) check gets cashed (usually within 1 week) at some bank in GA, 3) it's mailed from Atlanta to Martinsburg, WV; 4) it sits in a pile for a few months until some contractor enters the form and it goes "pending" (about 4 months in); 5) an official examiner gets the forms 8 months after you mailed them and they put it at the bottom of their stack; 6) your form gets approved around 10 months after mailed off..... I encourage to go the trust route and have your dealer eFile the form. Those are taking 3-4 months these days......not 10-11 months. Good luck buddy
  15. I complained several times with them. The response I get is that the system wasn't designed for so many users at the same time and there is no funding to correct or upgrade the system. It was made for Internet Explorer 8, which was released in 2009. That's why it doesn't work worth a crap with anything else. That tells me that the system was covertly in place in 2009 or 2010 but never released to the public. Can you imagine how many more title II items would be out there had it been released years ago???!?!?!?!?!? If you are a night owl, you can quickly get on after the late night re-boot. The system is down from 0400-0500 Eastern time. When it comes back online it is lightening fast. I'm up all night so that's what I do. I don't even try to get online after 1pm because you can waste an hour trying to file only 1 form. I hope this helps. And yes, the system is terrible and only works 30% of the time, but it's all we have unless you want to wait a year on a mailed in form.
  16. Folks, it is what it is. Suppressors, SBR / AOW are all lumped into our small crowd of MGs (NFA). Deep down I feel the association screwed us (unknowingly) because of BHO and his big agenda. I wish I could say I would have known better but I can't. You can never trust a politician......whether it's a local home-owner's association, city council, State house/senate/federal house/senate or more.
  17. I recently heard at SHOT the ATF will take about a year to get everything answered and aligned for BHO to make the executive order final......so, Jan 2015-ish will be D-Day for the title 2 world.
  18. We are seeing 90 days +/- if filed eForm. Only trusts or corporations can do this. Individuals must still go the CLEO/print/photo route.
  19. From what I am seeing that is about right. I called ATF today regarding the status of a Form 4 for a machine gun, submitted on paper in the name of a living trust last May. I was told that "it should be completed in April" -- 11 months.
  20. Recent eForms (form 4's) are taking roughly 3 months +/- a week or two Mailed in form 4's are taking 10 months or so. Things are getting ready to be bad........REAL BAD! (6/1/14).
  21. From what I understand...Chief762 is correct. No prints/CLEO/photo's will be accepted via eForm.
  22. eForm filed form 3's are taking about 1 month these days. eForm filed form 4's are taking around 3 months. These are just my experiences, for what it's worth.
  23. What happened to the info on UZI Talk????
  24. I am hoping that since it is already PENDING that they will let them slide through......who knows what is really going to happen. At this point, it's all speculation but something is going to change. That is for sure.
