  2. Wrench is sold on eBay. Do a search for barrel vise or barrel wrench. Seller has about a dozen different wrenches for different guns. Good quality heavy wrench. Not listed as a thompson wrench though. HTH
  3. Back in the mid seventies R J Perry bought Winchesters-military smallarms and Cody got the lever action rifles and shotguns. Some of the guns had adheisive aluminum property numbers on the stocks. There were several m2’ s for sale on Perry’s listing at the time. I bought one like the one in your pics . On the stock was a taped piece of paper pretty brown from age hand written Experimental gun. The tape was cracked and dark yellow not clear like todays scotch tape. Wish I had taken pictures . Sold it to D Todd years ago. Gun had no military proofs as it was an in factory gun never issued. I believe the price was $ 600 back then. Was an overstamped M2 shot great. Those were the good old days !
  4. Try using a nut and bolt that fit inside your mag housing. Hex head type. Put a wrench on each side then slowly back the nut off the bolt. This should expand the mag housing side to side so your mag will slide in and out easily. It’s trial and error just go a 1/4 turn and try mag. Don’t over do it. Sometimes people put the mag housing in a bench vise to hold barreled receiver. Clamping too tight will cause mag housing to close making insertion of mags hard or tight. HTH
  5. All Thompson barrels including Colt 21 barrel muzzle was 3/4 “. To put a unmarked 1st model comp the barrel must be removed and turn down to 5/8 “ before threading . Second an later comps barrel muzzle is 3/4 “ . I Think both sizes the TPI is 28. HTH
  6. Standard model 50 has no dust cover like m16 or mat 49 smg. How about some pictures ? Might help your search. Rich
  7. I will take one , first class $38.00 . PM to follow. Thanks M17ap ( Rich )
  8. Deer gun is an lmproved Liberator pistol. Has an aluminum frame , is still single shot. Used by CIA in 50’ s and 60 ‘s. Size similar to Liberator. Will try to post pics !
  9. Looks like a mac 10 holster set up. Back in 80’s lots of stuff made as accessories for Macs. One was shoulder holster with same snap set up. Mags on left Mac on right. All you had to do was grab grip rotate barrel Up and fire. Snaps hung gun on your side. Great concealment under your coat. Looks like someone customized the M1 stock for same set up. Probably put snap retainers on a piece of old web sling so the M1 could hang from shoulder for quick grab and fire. Hate to say maybe a sidewalk commando. Thompson would be much better concealed without stock. Just my opinion.
  10. Got SAR for May awhile back at my local Barns + Nob. Been checking regular but never saw June or July. Now I got Aug / Sept. What happened to those issues ? Great mag but don’t subscribe because all issues don’t relate to my collecting. Thanks for replies ! M17ap
  11. Form 10 is registration to police or military for their use only. The gun is not transferable to civilians , only other government agencies.
  12. Usually get issues at the book store ( Barnes & Noble ) never a problem. Last issue I bought was for February 2021. Never saw March issue and now no April issue. Also sometimes recent back issues available on Ebay. None their either. Anything happen ?
  13. Muzzle device came from a post war brake that Mel Johnson’s company put on sporter rifles back in the 50’s. It’s only the front end, has been cut down and modified. See original pics. Originals were threaded on and held by a set screw. Does that ring on yours turn or can you push or pull it ? May be attached by a depressed ball and spring , don’t know just a thought.
  14. Forgot this big dealer Roger Cox - Law Enforcement Ordnance
  15. Hey I remember looking foreword to every Issue of Shotgun News back in the seventies. Mostly looking for machine gun ads. Back then you had to read it cover To cover because all ads were mixed together not sectioned like today. Some guys had 1/4 page ads or 1/2 page ads that stood out. The ones I can remember were LES , C. Earl, R J Perry, Tommy St Charles, Fred Rexer, Chuck Hudak , these were the big guys. Had 10 to 20 guns for sale. There were smaller guys 1 or 2 guns for sale that listed only occasionally where the big guys were regular posters. Sorry if I missed a couple , but these guys were the 70’s. In the 80’s a lot more dealers and collectors popped up and so did prices. Feel free to mention any 70’s guys I forgot. They were great times for the hobby not like today. Transfers were 90 days or less all the time for years on form 4. No computers , today with computers should be super fast 4 to 6 weeks not 8 months to a year.
  16. When a dollar was worth a dollar !
  17. It is The Big House , any its Wallace Beery not ( Berry ) my bad.
  18. Looks like same Thompson used by Wallace Berry in a 1930’s prison movie. Might be called Big House. Not sure but several good shooting scenes Berry firing gun. Tube is a scope.
  19. Try a copy center like Kinkos or Staples. They have machines that photo copy and can enlarge your print. Should be easy and not a problem. HTH
