  1. This is GB auction # 888283887 round madsen buffers. Seller is John Bush very knowledgeable on guns. Gunsmith and did videos for AGI gunsmithing. He can tell you exactly which model they are for. HTH
  2. Are you using round bolt ? Heavier bolt helps feed !
  3. Loader and mag well adapter not original. He adjusted post to mention mag well not Be original or some type of field modification . It be nice to own and have dual caliber GG .They were made for both models. Never purchased one of these kits because I heard they are problematic. They don’t always drop in and run. Frank I. Had a kit years back did an article on It had to move barrel in collar and double up front plate to get to be reliable.
  4. Hate to say but I’ve soon a number of photos of soldiers wearing helmet backwards. Not a mistake, wearing it backwards benefits your field of view that sometimes get blocked by brim on front of helmet. If you have the older steel pot try it.
  5. Hello, don’t know Bob but do know his company. Philadelphia ordnance. They have a website. As a frequent searcher and buyer on GB auction site he posted and sold a very nice Bren receiver last week. Keep trying to contact him , he’s out there maybe just busy ! HTH , M17ap
  6. Hi guys need some info on terry’s reproduction 21 Hardcase. Heard they were limited to 50 or so cases. when were they made 80’s , 90’s ? What was original selling price ? Today’s value ? Did they have repro Swetnam labels ? Was quality same as originals ? Any info is appreciated ! Please post here. Thanks ! m17ap
  7. What machining problems are they. A friend had one but I only noticed a large swirl mark After ejection port on right side. Please give more info. Thanks !
  8. Looks like an old harmonica tin repainted and very similar in size to original. Does not have any catch for lid. Search Ebay will see brown and yellow German tins that this probally is .
  9. Maybe for this cheapo bipod. Knurling helps to stabilize it from rotating as gun is heavy. Just my opinion.
  10. Any pics of what you use. Are they brass , steel , aluminum ? Did a search there are several types. Would like to try on an old MAC can. Please post pic if possible. Thanks ! M17ap
  11. Did some checking. 34 & 42 recoil buffers are not the same. 42 has screw where 34 has a tube with a cap to hold recoil buffer and spring inside. I guess on this model you may need to shorten ( machine off some metal ) from the recoil bushing , or spring itself. Or find a shorter bushing or a used compressed spring. Sorry for mistake. I did the above modification on the 42 I had and it corrected my run away problem. M17ap
  12. RRO, had mg42 with a similar problem. The problem was the recoil buffer in the stock. Can’t give exact measurements as don’t have gun any more. When the gun is cocked how much space is there between rear of bolt and buffer spring that bolt recoils against. If it’s about 1/8 “ it should be more like a 1/4 “ What happens is the bolt does not come back far enough for the sear to pop up to catch the bolt. It needs slightly more travel so the sear can pop up. Had to knock pin out of the large screw that goes into bolt recoil buffer spring. Turn screw a half Turn ? or more to get correct space. Then drill a new hole to replace pin which locks adjustment. Maybe some current owners of 34 s or 42 s can give you measurement of space between bolt and recoil buffer on their guns. Something to check. Again when cocked you should be able to pull bolt back about a 1/4 “. HTH. M17 ap
  13. Huggytree , there’s always ONE more ! ! ! M17ap
  14. Awhile back someone posted about a tool to remove dents from dropped drums. There were s bunch of replies from interested buyers. Me included. Any news as to progress in getting them made ? Please post thanks in advance ! M17ap.
  15. Sounds like you may be using mags that were modified for semi auto only Thompson. Check holes on rear of mag. They should be round like a circle if they are oval or egg shaped then they were modified for semi auto only Thompson. Bolts and receiver depth are different for semis. Use only mags that have round circle hole for mag catch. HTH
  16. Correction may or may not have standard hanger for eyelets. May have 2 canvas belt loops. May have 2 question mark type hooks. Have not seen mine in a while. Packed away. Definitely fits 100 rd drum. Also Sarco had repo pouches. You might try there.
  17. Hello, You need a case or pouch for the 1917 watercooled drain hose. It will fit a 100 Rd drum nicely. Try Hayes Otupolik in Montana . Not sure if spelled correctly. He deals in all kinds of military surplus. Case is web canvas made in od or green and has standard hook for pistol or cartridge belt. HTH
