  1. Years ago Gordon Herigstad had a Thompson Barrel that (based on barrel weight) had three bullets in it. At the SAR shows in Phoenix it was common to see bulged barrels on some of the tables.
  2. Yes It sold. I have a 28 Savage refinished replacement barrel that i will be listing on GB I am looking for around 26.5K So avoid sales tax and contact seller.
  3. Sorry about the lack of not sending pictures (i responded to several requests) Glad you got to see the BAR that RIA sold for $105k with fee's I do not think my gun is 98% but 55K for me is another Cadillac I also have a restored (very nice) Marlin-Rockwell 46K
  4. I have a model 1928 A1 with a Savage serial number registered on a form 4 i will be taking to the Big Sandy machine gun Shoot this weekend If someone is in need of one of these historic weapons I can sell it for 27K Come on out and kick the tires
  5. Okay I am loading motor home for a quick trip to Big Sandy and i still have the Winchester BAR (please come check it out) I also have a extremely clean Marlin Rockwell (1918) that i will sell for $44K And wait theres more.......I have a 1928A1 Savage Thompson (shooter grade.....dont think barrel is original,) that can find a new home for 27K .I am looking for mid 60's Cadillac drop tops and two door hardtops.
  6. I have a very nice Winchester minus the carry handle and tripod for $50k
  7. Good point BRMCII. I have sold several of my Class 3 stuff through Julian, but they are now Morphy and yes, a hand shake cash sale (in my opinion) is still the way to go for both sides. Even listing on GB now exposes the buyer to their state sales tax which on a 50K rifle could be $4500. I am no expert on these fine rifles but did Jim Ballou describe the significance of the X in the serial number?
  8. Does anyone know the final price of the Winchester RIA sold on Friday? It was listed as lot number 369 with a pre sale estimate of $55-$85K .I still have mine and I will be displaying it at Big Sandy in October if somebody wants to tire kick it.
  9. Yep I did mean butt plate. If the 28 to m1 topic has been talked to death they must have buried the answers? I am surprised Numrich sells very few parts for the Kahr?
  10. WTB Thompson M1 Butt Stock with recoil pad. I have a 28 to trade? Or how hard is it to convert 28 stock tp fit M1 ? I bought a M1 kit from Omega years ago and it had a 28 butt stock in kit.I never even realized it until several years later.......
  11. Okay You may be stuck so i would maybe sell kit to a 07 SOT and they could probably build a postie .Hell Andrewski would probably buy it
  12. Have you gone on the Weapons Guild web site to see if any one has posted successful semi auto builds for this gun? If there are plans available I would contact John Andrewski for further guidance.....602-746-4387
  13. Okay Varminter This gun is not on a form4 It is registered with ATF as a SBR (short barreled rifle) but it still costs $200 for the paperwork and i believe it is transferable ..Tennessee Taylor The milling machine I used is a three phase (I think 270 volts?) that was acquired from one of the defunct sawmills years ago (i borrowed time and expertise on it) I do not believe it is legal to have a gunsmith do the machine work on a 80% receiver for a SBR. They certainly can repair one after the build is complete ..Now the butt stock, your suggestions to get a matching stock is good. The butt stock i got from Omega when i bought the kit years ago had a 28 stock instead of the screw on M1 stock. If any one out there has a M1 stock to trade or for sale with butt plate please PM me. Is it a possible to convert a 28 butt stock to fit a M1 lower?
  14. I did the machining on the receiver (Bridgeport mill) and I had a local smith help me somewhat and it ran worse than a Khar I sent it for a "tune up" to Deerslayer a while ago and he is pretty darn good. You need to get prices from him. My $185000 house i bought in 2001 is listed for $1.3 so who knows with inflation
  15. Well i was able to disconnect the "cloud" from my one drive (windows 10) and then ,when the camera is plugged in, it directly loads photo's to a accessible file........ I have no skills or patience for this stuff
