I am a FFL/SOT and have done about four transfers from individuals to my FFL/SOT and it has been as quick as 3 months and as much as 4 so yes, it is quicker. You absolutely can be the transferee on a form 4 out of state. One suggestion, here is what I do to make sure the transfer goes smoothly: If the deal is $10k for example, send the seller 9800 and a check for $200 to ATF. You fill out the form 4 and send it to him to forward to ATF. I even provide the envelope. Then you know it will be done correctly . Also you as the transferee can draw a line thru all the stuff on the form that individuals have to- all the questions, for example. I draw a line and write "N/A" . Also, no cleo copy either. The reason it quicker (I have been told) is that the transferer and the gun is in the registry and you as the tranfereror are already in their system as they can look you up by FFL and SOT EIN number -
Greetings All, A Morphy Auction today had two 1921s sold. The one that was described as refinished fetched 30k incl buyer 20%. The original 1921 got $54,000. I think that's encouraging.Maybe prices are on the rise. As an aside, two commercial M2s, a nice plainfield with telescoping stock was $6,600 and a universal enforcer 9" barrel (no stock) was $6,000. I would take the plainfield GI compatible any day. There were 6 MP40's, one grease gun $22,800,

Good morning all: I sold a 27a5 pistol from the 70s (west hurley vintage ) and the buyer says the magazine falls out when he shoots it. He also said the mag catch hole was egg shaped which is common when people alter GI mags. It does lock in however. But when he shoots it, the mag falls out of the gun Does anyone know if a current auto ordnance mag from the Kahr company with fit correctly or should the buyer take a GI mag and keep enlarging the hole to fit? If he does enlarge it....does he need to enlarge it toward the feed lip or toward the bottom or both? Thanks for any input regards Haris

I am a 07 and sometimes makes SBR's and in speaking to ATF personnel, i have gotten mixed answers 1. It must be on the serialized part.Thats universally agreed of course 2. There is a difference in opinions as to where. I have seen some under the grips, under the handguards and I have been told its in compliance. I like that choice better as it aids in the resale
